Manipal Entrance Test

The MET is administered regularly in a networked mode and a face-to-face mode throughout the year as well. The tentative date for MET examination for the year 2024 is second week of February – 2024, first week of March – 2024, last week of May – 2024 and first week of July – 2024. The outcome of each attempt is, in most cases, announced within two weeks from the date of the test. From the result, candidates get sectional cut off as well as the overall percentile score.

The MET helps in getting into management programs and the admissions are offered on the basis of the candidate’s scores and performance in other rounds of group discussion, personal interview and so on The cut off percentile for calling candidate to next round of MET again differ from one institute to another. Applicants have to take an individual application to the preferred colleges/s or universities, depending on MET scores and other criteria set by institutions. MET Exam Preparation Tips 2024

1. Gather as much material as you can – It is recommended to start preparing for the MET exam at least six to twelve months in advance. This will give you enough time to go through the syllabi properly and ensure that you understand all that will be expected of you as from the beginning of the next semester.

2. Understanding exam and course format - Learn about the format of the exam, number of sections if any, what type of questions are to be asked etc. Also, understand how much weightage is given to each section and that will help you prepare for the exam.

3. Use note-taking and revisions - While taking notes, one should be brief and take notes in the form of points for each topic under discussion, which should be revised from time to time. This will assist in recalling information that was learnt, as the brain will have a map that will guide it in case it needs to search for information that was stored. Try to revise daily.

4. Practice on the previous years’ question papers – It will be wise to understand the kind and degree of questions posed to students. It will also familiarize you with the actual examinations that you will be encountering in your collegiate life.

5. Improve your strong areas – Consider the areas of the book in which you are stronger and focus on these areas to strengthen them. If there is need, refer to other books/study material that you came across during your study session.

6. Practical test: This should be taken as an actual test in real exam period as given below: It will also try to improve your speed and precision.

7. Take care of yourself - ensure that you are eating well and especially getting enough rest. This will ensure that during your study time, you will be alert and avoid getting bored.

8. No Distractions – Ensure you reduce distractions as much as possible during your study sessions to enhance your learning. Take breaks in between the study sessions as a way of practicing mindfulness so you can be able to focus more on your studies.

9. Practice through MET test series – This can be done by registering to a MET test series conducted by coaching institutions. This will enable it to offer more organized mock tests and assessments.

10. Maintain motivation – One could consider reading of motivational books/quotes from other successful people. As you work towards achieving your MET goals it helps to associate with people who have already solved MET to keep yourself motivated.
