PUCET PG is the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test that is conducted every year by the Panjab University for providing admission to various postgraduate courses run by the affiliated colleges and departments of Panjab University, Chandigarh. The PUCET PG exam is meant to filter the student intake based on their ability and understanding of the subjects offered in the respective fields. The exam can cover areas like general ability, specific knowledge in the candidate’s field of specialty, problem-solving abilities, logical thinking and language competence, and only multiple choice questions.
The entrance test for admission into the PG programmes of PU is known as PUCET PG and it is held once in a year usually in May or June. The exam duration is 2 hours… Based on the previous years’ schedule, the PUCET PG 2024 will likely be conducted in May or June of the year 2024. PUCET results are declared after the entrance test and include the name of candidates who will be allowed to attend the counselling session for the PG admission. The minimum qualification required to appear for PUCET PG is having a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field with minimum percentage having eligibility as prescribed by Panjab University. For admission to PUCET PG, academic performance and marks in PUCET PG are given equal importance. 1. Candidate must have passed the bachelor’s degree or its equivalent recognized university in the respective subject with minimum 50% marks.
2. For the candidates in the reserved category: The minimum marks percentage maintained by the candidate must be 45% or equivalent grade points from any university recognized by the university.
3. Final year bachelor’s degree candidates can also apply providing they have obtained the requisite percentage in their final year later.
4. As per the new notification, there is no upper age limit defined for the candidates willing to apply for the PUCET PG entrance exam so that they can get admission in the participating institutes and courses.
5. The students who have compartment backlog in their bachelor’s degree are not permitted to appear in PUCET PG until they clear their all backlog papers and fulfill the eligibility criteria.
