Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test

TS POLYCET or the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test is an annual exam that is conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana with an aim to provide admissions into various polytechnic diploma courses offered in the state. The exam is most often conducted in the month of May every year. 

TS POLYCET serves as the qualifying test to enable students to pursue polytechnic courses such as the Diploma in Engineering, Diploma in Non Engineering, Diploma in Agriculture, and other Technical Diploma courses in various institutes and colleges which are approved by the State Board of Technical Education and Training located in Telangana. This is one of the principal tests that have been adopted in the state for admission into the polytechnic institutions.

The TS POLYCET exam is conducted for 120 questions all of which are multiple type questions out of which 60 questions are from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and the remaining are from a general section. The duration of the exam is two hours long. Admission to polytechnic colleges is given to the eligible students on the basis of their TS POLYCET score and the merit ranks that they have obtained in the examination through counselling sessions.

How to Apply for TS POLYCET Exam 2024?

1. Check the official website (https:You can visit the official website (http://polycetts.nic.in) to find out when the application form for TS POLYCET 2024 will be out and other important information related to the exam.

2. Meanwhile, as soon as the application form is out, you can access the official website of the TS POLYCET 2024 by clicking on the online application link.

3. If still new to the site, then you need to sign up by creating an account with them. The current users have to enter their login details to proceed to using the site.

4. While filling up the TS POLYCET application form, please make sure to enter all details such as personal details, communication particulars, academic details etc.

5. Scan, upload photograph of oneself and a signature in the given format and size.

Documents Required for Apply TS POLYCET Exam 2024

- Educational Qualifications Proof: This means, you will need to submit the documents that prove your completion of SSC/10th class or any other equivalent examination with the necessary subjects. The mark sheets of your 10th standard examinations would be sufficient for this purpose.

- Date of Birth Proof: Any one of the documents like Aadhar card, birth certificate, 10th class mark-sheet, etc., having the date of birth.

- Local Status Certificate (if applicable): Students seeking admission for the seats reserved for SC/ST/BC/OBC/PH would be required to produce the necessary certificates as proof of their local/non-local status.

- Caste Certificate (if applicable): It would be obligatory to attach caste and income certificates based on government norms in the case of applying for reservations under categories such as SC, ST, OBC.

TS POLYCET Exam Eligibility 2024

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit set for any candidate to attempt TS POLYCET examination. It also important to know that this competition is open to all the candidates irrespective of their age.

Educational Qualification: This means that the candidates have to have passed this examination which is the SSC or its equivalent from a recognized board to be qualified to apply for this course. They are also eligible for the posts if they are the final year students pursuing the SSC course from a recognized college.

Domicile Requirement: In order to appear for TS POLYCET, only those candidates who qualify as residents of Telangana state or non-residents of Telangana state are allowed.

Subjects Required: Some diploma courses/programs require candidates to have passed Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their SSC or equivalent examination.

TS POLYCET Exam Preparation Tips 2024

1. Familiarize yourself with the exam patterns – Understand the number of sections, topics that will cover, the kind of questions asked, the marking scheme, etc. in order to program your preparation appropriately.

2. Be organized and plan the course as realistically as possible - Students should avoid cramming or trying to learn all of the material in one session. Develop a monthly/weekly plan of which topics should be covered in order to achieve the best results. There is also the time that must be spent on revision so make sure you set enough time for it.

3. Ace your study material – Use previous year papers, TS POLYCET mock tests and use TS POLYCET preparation books as reference sources. It is especially important not to use bad reference books which can lead you astray.

4. Clear your basics first as many of the questions are from class 11 & 12 PCM subjects. Refresh theoretical knowledge in physics, chemistry and mathematics, focus on simple equations and laws. 

5. As a rule, it is advisable to take full-length mock tests once a week if you are set on a weekly schedule after having ready your material.
