Cutoff for NEET UG 2024: Check Qualifying Marks Here

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG as the name suggests is a common entrance examination for the undergraduate medical and other medical related courses in India. The cutoff means the marks set for passing the examination or the minimum standard that the exam must reach.

It is expected that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the NEET UG 2024 cutoff for the students after the declaration of the results. The cutoff marks are grouped in the following criteria they include the difficulty level, the number of candidates, the number of places available, the policies on the reservation etc. 

The cutoff scores for the 2024 recruitment exercise varied with the category of candidates as follows; Unreserved 117-702. For specified categories such as SC/ST/OBC, the cutoffs were as low as 93-669. The cutoff also differs from category to category depending upon the AIQ, state quota, number of seats available in central universities and deemed universities.

NEET UG Expected Cut-Off and Percentile 2024 

According to professionals, the general passing standard is likely to be hovering in the region of 140-150 marks out of a maximum 720. It is common to note that cut-off tends to vary in relation to the various categories. For unreserved candidates it is between 140-142 and for OBC, SC and ST categories.

NEET UG Cut-Off Determining Factors 2024 

1. The number of applicants seeking medical education and the number of seats offered in different medical colleges of India.

2. Analyse the level of difficulty of NEET UG test paper and the students’ results. 

3. Tentative merit list: Separate merit list for each category as per NEET score and state quota reservation policy.

4. Choices by students of the colleges they prefer or which are filled by the candidates qualifying for counselling.  

5. Distribution of medical colleges by seat matrix according to categories mentioned published before the counselling.

6. These cut-off marks are not fixed but are dynamic in nature and change year by year dynamically based on the above parameters until all the seats are booked.
