Anna University of Technology Tirunelveli called AUT Tirunelveli is one of Tamil Nadu’s state technical universities in the city of Tirunelveli. It was set up in the year 2007 and is recognized by the UGC and has been accredited with ‘A’ Grade in the NAAC ranking system. According to the NIRF rankings for the year 2023, AUT Tirunelveli stands at the 91st position out of all the engineering colleges in India. 

The courses that are taught at the university are undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields of engineering, technology, sciences, humanities and management. They include Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology etc. Final exams are usually administered in November/December and April/May and other major tests in the semester are conducted in these periods. The admission is open from May and the students who have been selected can finish their admission process by September in order to join the next academic year (2023/2024).

The placement cell of AUT Tirunelveli works effectively to provide campus placement employment for the final year students. Large organizations such as TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, L&T,ibanq and Accenture hire employees through campus placement programs. In this year 2022, campus placement percentage was above 80 percent of the eligible students were placed and the highest package offer was Rs. 18 lakhs per annum. The remuneration offered was moderate to high and averaged, between 3 LPA to 5 LPA a year. Some of the other major sectors recruiting were- software and core engineering, manufacturing and banking & finance.

Anna University of Technology , Tirunelveli Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or must have passed with other subjects for certain courses. The number of marks that should be maintained on average differs from program to program.

2. Must have passed Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 level for all the admission in all the engineering and technology. Mathematics should be studied at 10+2 level for B.Arch admissions because Mathematics is a subject of numbers and measurement which is the basic requirement for a Constructor. 

3. The admission requirement at the 10+2 level are minimum percentage of marks prescribed between 45-50% for OC/BC candidates and 40-45% for SC/ST and other reserved candidates for admission into different undergraduate engineering and technology courses.

4. A candidate seeking admission for B.Arch program need to qualify National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) examination conducted by Council of Architecture and minimum qualifying percentile as fixed by the concerned authorities. 

5. For lateral entry of diploma holders into the 2nd year of UG engineering/technology programs, the candidate must have passed the diploma in the relevant branch with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/OBC) and have a valid score in the diploma.

6. The candidates who fulfill all the requirements of eligibility have to clear TNEA which is a common engineering entrance examination conducted by Anna University to take admissions in the programmes offered through the cut-.off system.
