Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) is one of the private university located in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. It was set up in 2012, accredited by the University Grants Commission UGC and sanctioned by the Arunachal Pradesh Government. NAAC accredited the university grade ‘B’ in 2022. The NIRF Rankings 2023 considered by AUS has placed the university at the 101st position in the country.
It has undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, management, commerce, arts, science, law, education, mechanical, civil, electrical, chemical, computers, electronics and communication, humanities, social sciences, biotech and many other fields. Among the most sought courses offered in AUS the following are the most popular; Business and Technology – BTech Master of Business Administration – MBA Arts – BA Commerce – BCom Science – BSc Master of Arts – MA Master of Science – MSc Laws – LLB Education – BEd. The admission process involves determining an entrance examination administered by the University accompanied by counseling. The exams are normally conducted once in May and June each year. Arunachal University of Studies Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Requirements for the candidates are, the candidates must have passed in 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized central or state board and minimum percentage of marks also differs from course to course between 40-50%.
2. For the 4-year BTech programmes, the candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the subjects. The subjects of other programs differ with specialization.
3. Age restrictions are set and people below a certain age cannot participate in a certain program while people above a certain age cannot participate in another program. In general, minimum age is set to be 17 years while the maximum age comes in between 22-28 years depending on the program.
4. 5% grace in aggregate marks is allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc., Upper age limit is also relaxed.
5. University has its own entrance examination to offer BTech course for the aspiring students. This is prepared depending on the overall performance of the candidate in the exams. As for other programmes, admission is strictly based on the score obtained in the 10+2 examination.
6. Passing the entrance examination does not always mean that one is free to join the school of his/her choice. The final selection of a candidate is done according to the rank obtained by the candidate, his/her preference for branch, availability of seats and most importantly, the candidate fulfills all the criteria of the University.
