The Assam Women’s University in Jorhat provides a wide range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Education and so on for women students In different departments, the admission requirement is different. The admission criteria for B.A. programs requires the candidates to have passed class 12th from a recognized board with at least 50% marks. Acceptable exams include HS, AHSEC and so on. For B.Sc, candidates should have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. To be eligible for B.Com the candidate must have secured 50% in 12th standard from commerce background. B.Ed demands graduation with 50% marks in relevant subject and clear the CTET examination. How to get admission in M.A. in Assamese, English, Education etc: One has to complete a relevant Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks. Some of the PG programs have their own entrance exams such as AWES.
The administration of the University will start the admission process for the 2024 batch in mid 2023. Among the different under graduate programs available in arts, science commerce and education streams, are B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Ed. M.A, M.Sc and M.Com as postgraduate courses are offered with specific specializations. Campus based entrance tests :June-July 2023 While National Level tests: UGC NET,CUCET etc will be conducted according to public schedule. The application process for programs starts approximately in March 2023 and the admission will be offered on the basis of class XII/graduation and entrance test conducted, if any. Different reservation policies exist depending on the eligibility categories. The application is done online with the supporting documents submitted by the end of June 2023 until all the seats are taken. The classes usually commence in August.
