Avinashilingam Institute For Home Science and Higher Education For Women is a self-financing women’s college situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It was established in the year 1957 by Avinashilingam Education Trust and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC. As per NIRF rankings of 2023, it stands at 37th position in the NIRF ranking of India’s Universities.
It has more than thirty undergraduate, post graduate, and doctoral programmes in education, sciences, arts, engineering & technology, architecture, commerce and home science. Some of the famous courses offered include BSc Home Science, BSc Nutrition & Dietetics, BEd, MSc Food Science, MA English, M.Com, MCA and MTech. Avinashilingam Institute For Home Science and Higher Education For Women Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. BSc Home Science: Science stream with pass class 12th and at least 50% marks. Age limit is 21 years.
2. BSc Nutrition & Dietetics: The candidate should be a pass in class 12th with PCB and the candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in PCB. Should have offered it as a compulsory or an elective course.
3. BSc Fashion Designing: Pass in 12th standard from any stream with 50% overall percentage. Successfully pass in the entrance examination which is conducted by the institute.
4. BBA Hospital Administration: Passed 10+2 in any stream with minimum 50% marks. Write entrance exam that is set by the institute offering the course.
