Babu Banarasi Das University (BBDU), Lucknow has a variety of Under Graduate and Post Graduate programs in different fields of Engineering & Technology, Management Studies, Applied Sciences, Humanities, etc. The requirement is different course to course. For B.Tech, one has to pass the 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 50% in aggregates. JEE Mains, UPSEE, etc., are regarded as the accepted exams for admission while for BBA/MBA courses, graduates in any stream with 50% marks are eligible to apply. Some of the standard tests include the CAT, MAT, and XAT. B.Sc. programs are available for students belonging to 12th Science Stream, having subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. The marks required is also 50% in 12th as well as the candidates must have cleared their 12th from recognized board along with this. As for the under graduate programs, B.A. and M.A. programs in subjects like English, Economics, Psychology, the candidate from any stream with fifty percent in the previous examination is eligible to apply.
The University has approximately 70 courses and programs available. Some of the course that is offered by UG and PG are B.Tech(CSE, ECE, Mechanical), BBA, MBA, B.Sc. There are the B.A. and the M.A. degrees in subjects, which include humanities and social sciences also The science stream comprises B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology etc. The exact date for exams for the year 2024 is not yet available but it will be notified by the University. On the other hand, the tentative admission counselling schedule is in July-August 2024 for the undergraduate and in May-June 2024 for the postgraduate programmes. It is packaged in an online format where a candidate is required to fill an application form available on the University’s website. This form has to be completed and the necessary documents must also be submitted. A few courses have entrance examination that are administered to interested candidates for admission into the university. Admission is merit based that means they consider the marks that the student obtained in the qualifying examination as well as the entrance test (if available).
- The BIT offers four years B.Tech programs in different branches of engineering such as Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, etc.
- Admissions are conducted based on the various state level & national level engineering entrance examinations like UPSEE or JEE Main etc. Students must apply for these examinations separately as per the norms of their eligibility.
- Minimum educational requirement for UPSEE is that the student should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination and the main subjects included should be Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In addition, there are provisions for the reserved category students with certain concessions.
- UPSEE has state level ranking and counseling system for providing admissions in various institutes of technology, universities and management institutions. The seats are allocated based on weightages that include candidate preferences, rank, and reservation.
- Candidates who have qualified for JEE Main will be given admission on the basis of their rank as well as, their performance in the JoSAA/CSAB counseling procedure after results.
- For the candidates belonging to the batches of 2024, the UPSEE 2024 and JEE Main 2024 may be conducted in April-May 2024. For most of the exams, key dates and the manner in which one can download the application form will be communicated by the end of 2023.
- Tuition fee at BBD for B.Tech is ?60,000 per annum while hostel fee is ?30,000 per annum making the total program fee of ?90,000 per annum. There are scholarships also available for students who are in financial constraint.
