Berhampur University is a public state university situated in Brahampur, a city in Odisha, India. It was established in 1967 and was conferred recognition by the University Grants Commission later on. The status of NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) has accredited Berhampur University with ‘A’ grade. As per the NIRF rankings in 2023, the Berhampur University was placed at 101-150 in the ranking of universities in India.

Berhampur University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Candidates seeking admission to the different undergraduate programs offered by the university must have passed 10+2 or equivalent test in relevant subjects with 50% pass (45% for SC/ST) or better.
2. Candidates applying for postgraduate programs are expected to possess a minimum of a first degree (in the area of study) at the honors level or its equivalent from the University or any other recognized University with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
3. For admission to MPhil and PhD programs, candidates must have obtained a master’s degree with minimum 55% marks in the subject concerned and must appear in the entrance examination conducted by the university.
4. For the professional courses Like LLB, MBA, MCA etc., any graduate can apply and eligibility norms is decided with reference to themarks secured by the candidates, as per norms set by the respective regulatory authorities and guidelines of the concerned institute.
5. According to provisions of the state government for the reserved categories of candidates, relaxation in percentage of marks required for admission in the above mentioned disciplines and reservation in the seats is available as per rules.
6. Thus, mere satisfying the criteria for minimal admission does not automatically grant a student an admission, as it is not solely determined on the basis of the eligibility criteria but also on various other parameters specified by the university such as the marks obtained in the qualifying examination, performance in the entrance tests etc.
