Bharathiar University is a state university, established in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu state in India. Founded in the year 1982, it has been identified by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and recognized as the ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. According to the NIRF rankings of 2023, Bharathiar University was placed at the 101-150 band rank and 57th rank in the university rank. It is a large university that has over 8000 students enrolled in more than 109 programs in various fields such as arts, science, engineering, management, education, law, and physical education. Its courses are structured to be more skills and competency based with a view to producing students that will be ready for the outside world.
A vast number of courses and streams are present in Bharathiar University over a wide range of departments. Students can follow Degree, Post Graduate, MPhil and PhD courses with specialization in all subjects starting from Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and other faculties of arts, commerce and management sciences. Normally semester examinations, practical examinations and final examinations are held in the months of November- December and April –May respectively. Scholars for 2024 will be recruited in May 2023. These centers include the official university website, which prospective students can access and apply online. The admissions are given on the basis of some norms and standards, merit in qualifying examination and if any university examination conducted by the Bharathiar university. Counseling is the process that is followed to divide the seats among students.
The University has a separate cell for the careers and placement, and the university provides placement opportunities every year through campus interviews. Some of the major recruiters in campus are Accenture, cognizant, infosis, wipro, syntel, etc. As the placement season of 2021-22, about seventy five organizations have taken part in campus recruitments. There were an approximate of 2656 offers of jobs that were made, which was more than 200 offers from the previous year. The highest evaluated salary package was 16,75000 INR while the average packages varied between 3-4 lakhs INR. The placements statistic depicted that more than 60 % of the registered candidates got placements through on-campus and off-campus drives. The placement cell also facilitates pre-placement training to enable candidates secure good jobs through interviews.

The maximum salary offered in the recent placement years has been fifteen lakhs per annum. was being offered a starting pay package of 1 year 12 lakh per annum by a leading IT services company. The average number of salary package offered to employees in different branches is around Rs. 4 lakh per annum. Campus recruitments account for more than 60% in terms of offering placements to the eligible students.
