Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, is an all-India Institute for Higher Education and a deemed university of the type specified in subsection 3 of the University Grants Commission Act. BITS Pilani is categorized by the Ministry of Education as an Institute of Eminence. It has positioned itself as 16th best engineering college in India according to NIRF Ranking 2023. BITS Pilani has been accredited with an A++ grade in 2022 by NAAC with a CGPA score of 3.78 out of 4 under cycle 3 with effect from 2022 with valid up to 2026 which is a testimony of its status as one of the top educational institutes in India.
BITS Pilani provides the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate programs in the field of technology, science, management, and humanities and the related areas. BITSD presently accepts its students through the BITSAT which is an online entrance examination for Engineering and Science courses. BITSAT 2024 exam dates are still not declared by the institute. BITS provides a number of educational programs for which the students can register when the registrations are opened in May 2024 on the website. The admission process includes an entrance test in BITSAT, attending counseling sessions and applying through candidate portal.
