The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh (CTUAP) is a university located in Vizianagaram with a number of departments in the faculties of science, arts, commerce, engineering, education, law etc. The basic admission criteria for all the bachelor degree courses is passing 10+2 examinations with certain percentage in respective subjects depending on the stream which the student is aspiring for. For instance, Bachelor of Technology Programmes such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering admit candidates based on JEE Main scores while Bachelor of Science Programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics admit students based on their 10+2 examination marks. BA in History, Economics should have at least 50% in relevant subject. BCom requires minimum 50% in 10 + 2 exams. For BEd program, graduation degree is mandatory along with the score of BEd entrance test. For MTech, MSc, MA, MCom, one needs to have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject with a specific percentage required. University has also integrated courses such as 5 year programmes of LLB and BEd which help students to have one year waivered.
All the UG and PG level courses at CTUAP are available in semester system. It begins in the month of May every year, with the release of a notification for the admission cycle. For UG programs qualifying marks in national level tests like JEE Main, CUET or marks obtained in 10+2 examinations for admission However, for PG programs the qualifying marks in the national/ state level entrance tests score in the relevant subject is considered. University also has its own entrance test, which is known as University Test. Application form submission is completely through University portal only ie online. Most national level tests are conducted in the months of February-July for the exams. The examinations for university entrance are in the period of July/August. The results are declared in the month of August and academic sessions begins in the month of September. Admission are given subject to the merit in qualifying examination, the choice of the candidate and the availability of seats in the course. Other policies regarding reservation are also followed as per norms.
