The Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) is a central university located at Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh, India. CUAP was established in the year 2009 and it is a UGC recognized university which is affiliated with NAAC B Grade. In the NIRF ranking system of 2023, CUAP has placed in the 101-150 category in the list of universities in India. 

The CUAP is involved in the provision of undergraduate, postgraduate and even PhD studies in science, arts, commerce, law, and education disciplines. Some of the general courses that are available are Btech, Mtech, Bsc, Msc, BA, MA, Mcom, LLB, Bed etc. A university begins its admission process in the month of May every year and it has its own entrance test known as CUAP Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for most of the programs. Exam dates: CUCET 2024 exam: 19th June 2023 For Admission to 2024, the last date to apply: 31st May 2023  

The CUAP placement cell helps candidates secure jobs through on-campus interviews conducted by top companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte, KPMG, etc. In the latest placement drive i.e. for the placement session 2021-22, more than 87 companies visited for placements and around 83% of the students who were eligible for placements got placed. The maximum salary offered on campus was Rs. 16 Lakhs per annum and the average salary offered was Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per annum. Some of the famous companies, which joined CUAP placement and the packages offered by them are TCS Digital (Offering 16 LPA Salary Package), Infosys (Offering 7 LPA Salary Package), Tech Mahindra (Offering 6 LPA Salary Package) , Concentrix and Extramarks (Offering 5 LPA Salary Package). The progressive trend in placement and internship figures of CUAP is testimony to the employability of the university’s programs and the students that graduate from the institution.

Central University of Andhra Pradesh Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. For the undergraduate programs admission, one must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board obtaining minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Certain programs may have other additional stipulations such as subjects taken at previous levels.  

2. For postgraduate programs the admission criteria include minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in the respective field of the program. Certain programs in bachelor’s degree have specific specialization that must be met.

3. In order to be admitted to the MPhil and PhD programmes, students must possess a master’s degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of fifty five percent marks from a recognized university. Certain programs also entail certification in UGC NET/ GATE etc at national level.

4. Availability of seat matrix: Reserved Category students including SC, ST, OBC, PwD may have relaxation of 5% in minimum aggregate percentage in all programs as per government norms at all program levels.

5. International students can apply for various programs but for this they have to meet certain eligibility criteria in terms of academic achievement and English language proficiency such as IELTS/TOEFL scores. 

6. Besides, some of the programs may have certain requirements apart from formal education such as work experience, entrance tests etc. that any student wishing to join the program must meet.

The popular courses are B.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), M.Sc (Physics, Chemistry Mathematics), M.A (Economics, English, History) MBA MCA, M.Tech (Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering) and Ph.D in various disciplines.

The Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) also has the provision of placements for several years, and it is growing at a constant rate. In the placement session of 2021-22, Total no. of students placed were 177 with the highest package going up to Rs. 22000/- per month. Some of the engaging firms at CUAP are Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, Infosys, and Wipro among others. Huge plans and packages were offered to the students averaging around Rs 5 lakhs per annum. The campus placement drives yielded satisfactory results and about 60% of the eligible students got placed. CUAP has good industry relations which have benefited the students to get placements in the IT services, core engineering, analytics & research fields in renowned companies in India and global markets. The CUAP has a career guidance cell that has been very instrumental in ensuring students are placed in relevant organizations and connected to possible employers.
