Chandra Shekhar Azad University of agriculture and technology Kanpur is a state university of agriculture which is situated in up India. It was set up in 1975 as a residential college with the objective of education, research and extension in agriculture, horticulture, dairy technology and home science. Thus, CSAUAT is a University approved by ICAR and recognized by UGC. It has been accredited NAAC ‘A’ Grade in 2022. CSAUAT has been ranked at 51 st position in NIRF 2023 rankings in the category of agricultural universities of India.

The university affords undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in different fields of study including Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Basic Sciences, Agricultural Economics and Business Management. A few of the entrance examination are UPSEE, JEE Mains, and CAT for admission to the different courses. The candidate is required to obtain a rank in Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination for Uttar Pradesh (UPSEE) for getting into UG Programs. This means that all students seeking admission into PG are required to sit for entrance tests which determines their admission into the PG.

1. For undergraduate programs, the candidate should have completed 10+2 or equivalent in respective stream from recognized board and minimum aggregate percentiles of marks differs as per course.

2. For postgraduate programs, candidates need to complete a relevant bachelors degree with the minimum percentage of marks as specified by the university and again this may vary from program to program. 

3. For PhD, candidates must have a post graduate degree in the concerned specialization of the subject with not less than second division or 55% marks or its equivalent grade. 

4. Thus, only those students who are currently in the final year of their undergraduate or postgraduate programs are allowed to apply for the exams provided they meet the set requirements at the time of admission.

5. The minimum percentage of marks relaxation is allowed for the reserved category students as per the government policy.

6. Extra qualifying requirements like entrance tests, interviews, chosen subject proficiency may be other admission requirements besides those mentioned above depending on the program of one’s choice as stated in the admission brochure.

Some of the leading companies that have been recruiting for various positions are ICICI Bank, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, SBI Life, among others. For the top designation offered through campus placements, the highest salary offered was approximately INR 18 lack per annum by companies such as American Express while average salary offered to the students by mass recruiters came up to the range of INR 4-6 lack per annum. The placement rate is average of 60%-65% for engineering fields on average. However, courses that are offered under the domain of agricultural and other fields have less percentage of placement as the number of job opportunities available in such sectors are lesser and the salary packages offered are not that high.
