Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is an agricultural university located in Hisar, Haryana state, India. It was established in 1970, and is one of the largest universities in Asia focusing on agriculture with more than 150000 graduates. Shobhit University and CCSHAU are UGC approved and the latter is NAAC accredited Grade ‘A’. According to NIRF 2023 ranking, it is 36th ranked agricultural university in India. 

The university provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctorate level education in different disciplines related to the field of agriculture. The major streams of study offered by the university are Agriculture, Fisheries, Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Basic Sciences and Home Science. The admission to its UG programs is strictly given through the ICAR AIEEA and other national level entrance examinations. CCSHAU directly conducts entrance test for admission in PG programs in the last week of June 2023 and counseling is done in the first week of July 2023. The application process is usually during March.

The placement record of the Computer Science Engineering students for the academic year 2022- 2023 On-campus & Off-Campus placement drive is more than 80% of the eligible students. 1. The candidate must have cleared the 10+2 or equivalent examination to qualify with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English for undergraduate courses such as BSc Agriculture, BSc horticulture etc.

2. For the MSc programs, the candidates must have completed a relevant bachelor’s degree, the example are BSc Agriculture for the MSc Agriculture, the minimum percentage of marks required for the different programs and categories are also mentioned here.  

3. For admission into PhD programs, certain prerequisites are that the candidate possesses a post graduate degree as for instance a MSc Agriculture with the requisite minimum percentage as set by the particular university as well as passing national/ state admission tests.

CCSHAU follows the general system of offering different undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the faculties of agricultural sciences, basic sciences, home science, and engineering & technology. The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has four affiliated colleges namely College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, College of Basic Sciences & Humanities, College of Agriculture, College of Home Science.

The duration of courses under the undergraduate is four years whereas for postgraduate courses it takes two years. The university provides educational degrees in BSc, MSc, PhD and diploma courses in fields of Agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, home science, food technology, basic science and agricultural engineering.
