Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University, also known as CBPBU is a state university established in the year 2012 and is situated in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. CBPBU was set up in the year 2012 and in the short span of time it has carved a niche for itself among the educational institutions in the North Bengal region. Its credibility is evident by its recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B++ grade. Regarding the NIRF rankings of 2023, the CBPBU has secured 151st rank in the list of universities of India. 

There is a wide list of programs in different fields for students at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The programs offered include the BA, BSc, B.Com, MA, M.Sc., and M.Com degrees in a variety of disciplines: Bengali, English, history, political science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, commerce, management and others.
