Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University is one of the state universities of Uttar Pradesh which is situated in Gorakhpur. It was founded in 1957 and is officially affiliated with the UGC; the NAAC has awarded it ‘B++’ accredited status. As per NIRF rankings 2023, the university has been categorized in the band of 101-150 universities in India. The DDUGU is a vast campus sprawling over 300 acres of land and is accredited to offer Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Diploma, P.G, Diploma and Doctoral programs in sciences, social sciences, commerce, law, education, journalism, Library Science and many more streams.
University conducts courses in faculties like science, arts, commerce, law, education, medicine, Ayurveda, engineering and technology. These are among the most sought after programmes such as BA, BSc, BCom, LLB, BEd, MBBS, BAMS, BE/BTech among others offered in specializations. That may be for the annual / semester exams of these courses which are typically held in April-June and November-December each year. Regarding admission, they are offered dependent on state level or national level entrance test as the case maybe, depending on the course being pursued. Its application is usually in May and the selected students receive their offer of a provisional place from July on, for the next academic year which will commence in 2024.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Candidate must have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum percentage possessed by the candidate for admission into the program, (usually 50% for general category).
2. Any recognized University Bachelor degree programs, the candidate must pass 10+2 examination for getting admission and master degree programs require the relevant bachelor degree. There are also narrowing criteria in some programs.
3. The programs on offer apart from MBA, MCA have extra amenities like UPSEE, CAT, MAT scores.
4. In research programs, such as Ph.D., applicants must have post graduation degree in related field with minimum percentage standards.
5. For the students belonging to the reserved categories, certain percentage relaxations as per government norms and policies were allowed.
6. For programs, the number of seats available are divided under general, OBC, SC, ST and other reserved categories.
