Department of management studies of Jai Narain Vyas University in Jodhpur was started in the year 1962 to impart management education. JNVU is one of the NAAC A Grade accredited state university established in the city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. As per the NIRF Rankings 2023 that have been recently declared, JNVU has secured 90th position among universities in India, which shows the quality of education provided by the university.
The department mainly focuses on two main programmes namely Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Some of the key specializations available in MBA programme are Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Agriculture Business and International Business. The MBA exams are normally conducted in the months of May and December of every year while the BBA exams are held in March/April of every year. The admission for under-graduate and post-graduate programmes of the academic year 2024 is likely to start in the month of April 2024 on the website. The selection will be on the basis of the percentage of marks secured in the qualifying entrance test like CAT/MAT/XAT for MBA and for BBA only JNVU test.
More than 50 reputed organizations have come to campus for placement drives of the Department of Management Studies in 2023. Some of the principal selectors were ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Infosys, Wipro, Asian Paints, Berger Paints and Reliance. The MBA students who joined placements had a selection percentage of more than 85% with the salary packages varying between 6 to 8 lakh rupees per annum. The maximum salary that was paid to the students was 16 lakh rupees per annum. The placement scenario seems to be promising for the next batch also.

1. To get admission in BBA program, the candidate should have passed 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
2. The candidates interested in MBA admission must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC).
3. The qualification required for admission into the Ph.D program is post graduation in Management with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade. Another prerequisite for enrollment is a valid score in entrance examinations.
4. For admission in Executive MBA, candidates should have at least three years of working experience after the graduation and should have secured more than 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) at graduation level.
5. For admission to Diploma in Management program the minimum qualification required is 10+2 pass certificate from any recognised board with minimum 45% marks for open category candidates and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/KM candidates.
6. All programs entail a qualifying written test and Personal Interview Round conducted by the department’s admission committee as mandatory for selection.
The Department of Management Studies, Jai Narain Vyas University provides many programs in business administration, commerce and management. These include the two-year full-time MBA and the three-year part-time MBA. The department also has focused MBA programs like MBA- Financial Management, MBA-Marketing Management, MBA-Human Resource Management, and MBA-Information Technology.
The BCom and MCom programs are primarily based on commerce and finance related subjects. There is also a master of computer applications (MCA) which is also offered. All the postgraduate programmes entail higher learning of related courses such as accounting, statistics, management principles, computer applications etc.
