The university has declared its exam schedule and admission procedure for the classes, which are to be offered in the year 2024. UG &PG courses in the faculties of Science, Arts, Commerce BSC, B.A, B.COM & MSC, M.A, M.COM etc will have semester exams in November-December 2024 and April-May 2025. Since the integrated programs of law, education, and engineering will also be semester system, they will also have semester examination system. The registration for admission to first-year degree courses for the 2024 batch is in May 2023, through national/state level tests and/or counselling as applicable for UG whereas PG candidates can directly apply for admission as per their eligibility. At the national level, some of the well known tests are JEE Main, CLAT, CAT, GATE etc while at the state level the University takes into account the scores in the concerned state level entrance tests. The application for the respective year of admission within 2024 will start from April of the same year.
It was established as University of Saugor in 1946 and is located at Sagar, Madhya Pradesh renamed as Dr. Harisingh Gour University. It is involved in the provision of different under graduate and post graduate programs in faculties of science, arts, commerce, engineering, Pharmacy, Education etc.
There is always an online and offline application for admission into the programs offered by the different levels. In order to fill online form, applicant has to go through the official website of the college, which is www.dhsgsu.ac.in and then navigate to the admission section. They have to initially enrol themselves that involves filling in some basic information and creating a password. After having completed the registration process, candidates can Login and complete the application form entering all the academic, personal details and uploading/attaching necessary documents as per the guidelines mentioned above. The application fee payment can be made through online mode only credit /debit cards or through net banking.
When applying offline, candidates can only obtain the application form in person from selected stations at the university, after making the necessary payment. The duly filled application form accompanied with the photocopies of the documents and the receipt evidencing the payment of application fee has to be submitted before the last date to the Office of the Registrar. - Where possible apply for scholarships/financial aids early enough so that you can be given a chance to get ready for payment. Other things international students should check include the need for study permits and student visas where necessary as early as possible.

5. Sit for the entrance exam for the university if it is necessary for the Ph.D. program. It is also common that departments perform their tests, and then an interview may follow, if necessary.

7. Be enrolled by procuring any other admission documentation that may be necessary within the stipulated date as earlier selected.
- Admissions are made in accordance to the candidate’s performance in Common Admission Test (CAT)/Management Admission Test (MAT)/Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) along with group discussion and interview.
- For CAT candidates the minimum percentile required is 55% for genral category and 50% for reserved categories.
- For CMAT/MAT, the candidate should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks, SC/ST/OBC – 55%.
- Selection is purely merit-based and the final candidates are selected based on their performance in the entrance tests, group discussions, and personal interviews. The second factor is ability and achievement; specifically, the candidate’s academic performance and work experience are taken into account.
- The affiliated institutes as well as the departments of this university have their own distinct cut-off marks and merit lists. The credits that would be needed could also differ from one institute to the other.
- The admission policy of the institute regarding the seat reservation according to state government norms for the reserved categories of students will be followed.

5. In case they are required, submit the application fees either online or as stated in the admission notification.
6. After providing all of the necessary information and completing the form to the best of their ability, the form must be printed and signed by the applicant. Also, it is advisable to have a soft copy for future use or in case of any changes in the original document.
7. If shortlisted, one needs to sit for the university entrance test, if applicable, and personal interview as informed.
8. It is advised to keep tracking the status of selection through the admission portal or the university website. If necessary, fulfill all the other formalities that may be required in order to gain admission into the school or university of your choice.
