Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar is one of the Universities located in Uttarakhand at Pantnagar focussing mainly on agricultural science. It provides opportunities in undergraduate and postgraduate levels in agricultural disciplines such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Food Technology, Home Science, Basic Sciences, and Agribusiness. The admission procedure is also different according to the department and courses- For B.Sc Agriculture the aspirant must secure a pass in the 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry,& Biology/Mathematics or 10+2 Agriculture examination. The course of BTech Food Technology means that students are accepted from the 10+2 science background only. MSc Genetics and Plant Breeding is a two year postgraduate program in science that is offered by many universities in India and the eligibility criteria for this course is a BSc degree with minimum 50% marks. In terms of entrance exam the university accepts the score obtained in national level examination such as JEE Main and ICAR’s AIEEA UG/PG, as well as the state level examination known as Uttarakhand State Entrance Exam.
It teaches about 30 programs encompassing diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate level, in various disciplines of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, basic sciences etc Some of the exams for admissions are JEE Mains for B Tech, All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) for B Sc /M Sc Agriculture and allied sciences UKSEE for some of the courses. The examination for B.E/B.Tech for 2024 admissions through JEE Mains will be held in the first week of January and April, 2023 whereas AIEEA UG will be conducted in the first week of June, 2023 AIEEA PG & UKSEE are still to be announced. Application process normally takes place 2-3 months before the exam dates depending on the facility. They are conducted after the results of the exams in accordance with the obtained meritis, preferences and the available options for the programs. Admission process involves application through online portal, giving the required examination, registration cum counseling and seat selection.

1. Entrance Exam: UPSEE & JEE MAIN etc are the state or National level entrance examination for admission into the engineering courses that the candidate has to appear The admission process is basically through merit list based on the marks-scoring/ ranks secured in the above mentioned entrance tests.
2. Class 12th Percentage: For the purpose of preparing merit lists, the Class 12th percentage is taken into account (excluding PCM for non-bio students and including PCB/PCM for bio students). The candidate should have passed in the class XII examination with at least 45% marks for the general category and 40% for the SC/ST category.
3. State Quota/All India Quota: Seats are categorized in to state wise distributed quota and All India distributed quota according to the candidate. This is done during counseling since preferences are given to them as per their desires.
4. Category Quota: For SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, admissions are based on the norms prescribed by the government to different programs offered by the institution.
5. Agricultural Background: The admission criteria for B.Tech Agricultural Engineering program also favours candidates with agricultural background and additional weightage is provided to such candidates while preparing the merit list.
6. Choices During Counseling: In online/offline counseling, the candidates actually get to select their branch & quota according to their rank, which would make them provisionally admit.

3. The information bulletin needs to be read carefully in order to get a clear picture regarding the eligibility criteria, dates and time fixed for the same, the application fees etc.
4. To complete the application for admission, the link for the online application form is available, and you need to register yourself through entering the necessary details.
5. You will be required to use your registration details and complete the application form
6. Scanned and attach necessary documents such as photograph, signature and educational certificates etc as per the prescribed pixel sizes
7. Pay using net banking/debit card/credit card while applying for the job online.
8. Complete the application with the help of the provided fields and generate a PDF document with application number for further use.
9. One should keep himself or herself updated with the status of the application online or can wait for the notifications of written test/counselling
10. If shortlisted, appear for counselling as per schedule and complete the admission process by paying fees.
1. The qualification required for appearing in the competition is Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with minimum percentage of marks as prescribed
2. The succeeding admission is determined by the entrance examination that given by the university.
3. University offers a common entrance examination for M.Sc admissions and it is well known as PG Entrance Examination (PGEE).
4. Thus, selection is done from GEE marks and academic records so that the candidate can attend counseling sessions.
5. In this counseling, candidate’s options to select a specialization and a college must be an exercise of their rank/merit.
6. Preference seats are assigned with an individual rank, choices that are made during counseling and number of seats.
7. Candidates also have to meet some other age and physical standards which have to be met before one can be considered for admission.
8. Quota facility can be availed by candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category who must produce appropriate certificates.
