Graphic Era Hill University (GEHU) is a private University established in the year 1996 at Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand. Formerly known as Guru Gobind Singh Anticancer Institute, it became a full-fledged university in 2011 and has already earned the reputation of one of the most promising universities in North India. Recognised by the Government of India and accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India, GEHU is an affiliated university. It has received an NAAC A+ grade, which proves that it has excellent improvement in education and infrastructure. Accoding to NIRF rankings 2023, GEHU had overall rank between 101-150 and rank 57 amongst universities.  

It spans a large number of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in a number of professional fields, namely engineering, computer applications, management, commerce, design, humanities and social sciences, applied sciences, agriculture, etc. The available intake is 2024 and the following are the important examination dates: April and May 2023. Students having a desire to get into GEHU can also apply through national level entrance examinations or through GEHU’s own entrance test named as GEUEE. The entrance process includes qualification examination, entrance test results and personal interviews. There are also scholarships it is awarded to the deserving students in the course.

Graphic Era Hill University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. The minimum eligibility criterion for BTech programs is the completion of 10+2 in PCM with 60% of marks in aggregate. Should have obtained valid score in JEE Main. Must be 21 years of age or older.

2. For MTech, candidates must have possessed BTech/BE degree in relevant branch with minimum of 60% marks. For the final selection, the candidate must have a valid GATE score. Employment experience may be considered an asset. 

3. Eligibility criteria for BBA/MBA is that any graduate can apply but must be a graduate in any field. It also requires at least 50% of aggregate marks for the candidate to be qualified for an interview. It is also advantageous if the candidate has been through entrance tests such as CAT/MAT etc. MBAs should have work experience to work for them.

4. For BCA/MCA All the passed students of 10+2 in any stream for BCA. Finally, persons holding BCA degrees can apply for MCA. Minimum marks requirment for graduation needed at least 50% is required. 

5. For BA/MA programs, any person who has passed +2 in any group can appear for the examination. Individuals with degrees in relevant disciplines for those seeking MA. Minimum 50% scores required.

6. PhD: postgraduation in the relevant field is necessary with minimum 55% of marks. Mandatory tests like UGC-NET/SLET qualifying in case of the holder of a bachelor’s degree to be considered for appointment. Research proposal needed.
