Gujarat Ayurved University (GAU) also known as Ayurved College Jamnagar is the University of Ayurved in the state of Gujarat. It was established in the year 1967 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) & approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM). NAAC has accredited GAU with ‘A’ grade and the institution has achieved overall CGPA 3.28 in the NAAC score form and the institution has ranked 65th position in NIRF India Rankings 2023 for medical universities.
Today the university contains a wide spectrum of diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in the field of ayurveda and its branches such as Kayachikitsa (Internal Medicine), Shalya (Surgery), Shalakya (Otorhinolaryngology and Ophthalmology), Kaumarbhritya (Pediatrics), Prasuti & Stri Rog (Obstetrics and Gynecology), Panch University examinations for the year are usually taken in November-December every year. According to the schedule, the admission process for the academic year 2024 which includes the entrance test is likely to commence in July –August 2023.

Gujarat Ayurved University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery), the candidate should have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board with science subjects – physics, chemistry, biology and should have at least 50% marks in aggregate.
2. For MD (Ayurveda), candidate must be graduated in BAMS with minimum 55% marks from any University and should have completed 1 year rotatory internship.
3. Candidates who want to appear in the MS (Ayurveda) must have BAMS degree with minimum 55% marks, recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine along with 1year rotatory internship.
4. To be a Ph.D, candidate they have to pass MD/MS degree in Ayurveda with at least 55% marks from a renowned university and clear the entrance exam.
5. In case of Diploma courses, candidates should have passed their 10+2 examinations in science streams from a recognized board. Minimum age is 17 years or above as appropriate for people of that age to be allowed into voting stations in most countries. \
6. For PG Diploma courses, the candidates should have passed BAMS degree from any university or any other university recognized by the university in this regard with not less than 50% aggregates marks.
