Gujarat Maritime University is located in Gandhinagar and it provides Bachelors and Masters in various disciplines includes Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering, Port & Shipping Management, Petroleum & Energy Studies and Logistics & Supply Chain Management. The general admission criteria includes having passed Class 12 in relevant stream with minimum 50% aggregate marks in PCM/PCB for the following bachelor degree courses. The entrance exam accepted include JEE Mains, GUJCET, GMAT, GPAT among others for the respective courses.
This university has 6 schools of study with over 30 bachelor and master degree programs in various fields of study in Nautical Sciences, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Petroleum, Port and Logistics. As for the next academic year 2024, it will open its admission at around May 2024. Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Any of the identity proof which has date of birth mentioned on it such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, passport etc., identity proof.
2. Letters of passing 10th and 12th standard board examination from a recognized education board along with their mark sheets.
3. Academic transcripts, degree certificate and mark sheets if the applicant is applying for a post graduate course. Documents required for Under Graduate programs are: Migration certificate from the school/ college last attended.
4. Reservation quota and the related documents, such as SC/ST/OBC certificate if available.
5. Documents include transfer certificate or school/college leaving certificate with the signature of the principal of the last institution attended by the candidate.
6. Certified document of physical fitness from a legally recognized medical professional stating fitness and physical standards pertaining the maritime and shipping courses.
1. Verify the general eligibility criteria for the relevant UG/PG program in terms of marks obtained, subjects offered, and age limits as prescribed by the university.
2. Complete the online application form which can be found on the university’s website, inclusive of personal information and academic background by the set deadline.
3. Take a scan of your photo, signatures, marksheets etc and upload them at the time of form fill up instructions.
4. Incase one is shortlisted, sit for the entrance test of the university where the program is taken as and when scheduled.
5. This is done to ensure once the merit list is out, students check their selection status and download their admission letter.
6. Inherit admission by paying tendered academic fees within specific time span after selection.
7. Ensure all original documents are submitted and registration processes completed at the time of physical arrival at the university admission confirmation.

1. Check eligibility – Minimum age 20 years, should have a bachelor’s degree with 50% marks. Passing qualifying tests such as CAT/MAT is required for several specializations.
2. Online submission of the application – You can download the application form from the official website of the college that is gmu.edu.in and then have to fill the form. Pay application fees online.
3. Screening – By this, eligibility is determined and the applications are then shortlisted. The applicants are told when the next rounds are coming.
4. Group discussion & Personal interview – For the candidates who successfully pass the screening test, they will sit for a group discussion and personal interview. Performance decides selection.
5. Provisional admission - Candidates are sent emails with details on fees payment in regards to their provisional admission.
6. Register fees & enroll – Pay the prescribed academic & hostel fees to secure a place in the school. Attend the program as per the date that has been set in the context of the given program.
