Gujarat Technological University or GTU is a government university established in Ahmedabad, Gujarat which focuses on providing education affiliated to engineering and technology. The GTU was formed in year 2007 and is accredited by University Grant Commission (UGC) and is also recognized by Government of Gujarat. It has been accredited by the national assessment and accreditation council where the college has been awarded a B++ grade. The GTU is ranked 91 among universities in the recently announced NIRF rankings of 2023.
JTO has more than 120 programs for diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level in engineering, pharmacy, architecture, computer application and many other fields. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & communication engineering, Computer engineering and Information Technology are some of the principal disciplines. Like most academically intensive institutions, exams are usually conducted twice a year, during the winter and summer sessions. Some of the proposed dates for examinations for 2024 include the end of the year examinations in November and December 2023, and the next year examinations in April and May 2024. The admission process starts in the month of May every year through state and central counseling. For admission in B. Arch, Students have to initially give GUJCET examination, and then through a centralized counseling process, students are placed according to their ranks and choices.
GTU has an active placement cell that helps students get recruited by campus placement for the year. Some of the prominent organizations that actively take part in placement drives are Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, Reliance, Adani Group, Larsen & Toubro, Tech Mahindra and many more are the companies that visit our campus for placements. The placement cell of GTU has placed more than 500 companies for jobs with the highest pay scale offered to INR 43.33 lakhs per annum. Total employability percentages have been relatively higher than 85% for the past 5 years. As for the salary of their employees, it is stated that the average salary packages are between INR 5-7 lakhs per annum and this is for each of their branches. Also, the university has an entrepreneurship cell to involve its students in starting up their own ventures and be independent entrepreneurs.

Gujarat Technological University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
BTech: Science with subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 12th,std; at least 45% marks are required for all general category students. Diploma holders can apply for direct admission to second year of B.Tech The course for B.Tech and other technical courses is divided into four years, it is divided into eight semesters, each semester is of six months.
MBA: It requires a minimum of 50% in the aggregate for students of General category for any Bachelors degree. CAT/MAT scores also required for entrance exams Most employers also require the candidate to pass through entrance examinations like CAT/MAT for them to be considered for the position.
MTech: First degree holder in appropriate engineering or technology field depending on the area of specialization. Students from general category must secure minimum 60% in the qualifying exam.
PhD: Candidates who have secured more than 55% in aggregate in their Master’s degree in any related engineering/technology stream. Qualifying entrance exam mandatory. Research proposal also required.
Diploma: For the general category students, the minimum pass is in 10th standard with 45% marks in the aggregate. Second year diploma through lateral entry for ITI / 10+2 Science is also possible.

Gujarat Technological University Placements 2024
The Gujarat Technological University has a well-functioning placement cell also it is responsible for providing campus placement to the students. In the current placement session (2021-22), 75 + companies have taken part in campus placements at GTU and offered 3000 + students. Some of the main companies that participated in this program are Tata consultancy services Infosys, Wipro, Reliance, Adani group, L&T Infotech among others. The maximum salary package offered was Rs 43,60,000 for the role of ‘Technology Solution Developer’ at Microsoft while the median salary which was offered was Rs 6,20,000 for ‘Software Developer ’. University placement reports revealed that 86% of the registered students got placed through various placements. These placements of GTU students show the overall technical education and training offered to the students so that they can easily get placed in top companies in India.
