Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus is a constituent college with its parent university, Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, Punjab. It was set up in 1969 and is recognized by the UGC; and got the NAAC accreditation of Grade ‘A’. Currently, the Regional Campus ranks among the major 250 universities in India according to NIRF Rankings 2023 with the 150th position. The institute provides numerous undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree programmes under many faculties. 

The institute provides a number of courses in Humanities, Commerce, Science, Computer Application and management and IT stream. Some of the most preferred undergraduate programs are the Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc). whereas postgraduation courses consist of M.A, M.Sc., MBA and MCA. The admission process is usually at the time of May each year. University offers MBA and MCA courses where entrance examinations are conducted. Some SCHOLASTIC CALENDAR and examination schedule of different UG and PG programmes in 2024 are as follows: B.A./B.Sc./B.For communication engineering – 1st May to 31st May, MBA/MCA – 3rd June to 15th June whereas merit lists are declared in the last week of June.  

The placements at the Regional Campus are unique; over 80 percent students were placed in reputed organizations. Some of the leading companies which employ the candidates are Infosys, Wipro, IBM, Dell, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra and almost all the PSUs/ Banking Organizations. Some of the students have got placements in reputed companies and the highest salary package offered to the student is 12 LPA and average salary package is 3-4 LPA. Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. As for the admission requirements, one needs to have passed 10+2 or its equivalent level in a specified institution with minimum average score differing for each program. For BCA minimum is 50 %aggregate and for BBA is 45%aggregate.

2. For BA and BCom, candidates of all the streams are eligible to apply for the course right from Science stream, Commerce stream, and also Humanities stream. There are no restrictions on a minimum percentage that has to be achieved in class work and/or home assignments.  

3. It means for technical programs like BTech and BE , the applicants need to have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects with minimum marks of 45-50% depending on the particular program.

4. Another admission route for students with diplomas is through transfer or the second semester of the BTech and BE courses. To pass for a minimum diploma percentage required is sixty percent.  

5. Reservation policy rules are implemented; a relaxed minimum eligibility in terms of percentage for the reserved category candidates such as SC, ST, OBC, PwD as per government prescription.

6. Furthermore, all students must pass the qualifying written test and/or interview set by the university before they are finally admitted to their intended course at the regional campus.

It has five regional campuses in different city of punjab which are as follows: These campuses include various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of arts, science, commerce, computer applications, to mention but a few.

Both the fee structure and the curriculum are the same as those offered at the main campus in Amritsar. Some of the programs that are offered by the company may be different from one location to the other depending on the market demands as well as the administrative policies of the specific area. Some programs like MBA, MCA, etcmay not be offered at all the regional campuses.

Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Campus also has a placement cell that plays an important role in the recruitment of the final semester students for reputed companies. Many leading organisations who regularly make campus placements include Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant and Tech Mahindra, etc. The maximum salary that any company offered for the batch of 2021 was Rs. 18, 00, 000 per annum made by American Express. Salary scales run from Rs. 4000-6000 per month, and the average salary package offered to a candidate comes to between Rs. 4-6 lakh per annum. Campus placements for the eligible students were around 60-70% through the on-campus recruitments in 2021. Some of the key recruiting companies are IT service companies, manufacturing firms, banking & Financial services firms that come in search for the talents from the streams like computer science & IT, civil engineers and MBA.
