Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, popularly known as HNGU is a university in Patan, Gujarat, which has various under graduate and post graduate programmes in the faculties of arts, science, commerce, management, engineering,technology, pharmacy and many more. Some of the finest courses the university offers include the following; BA, BCom, BSc, BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA, BTech, MTech, BPharm and MPharm. It is important to note that, the prerequisite for admission varies from program to program or department to department. For example, for the BTech programs Computer Science, Information Technology, Civil, Mechanical etc., the candidate must have passed their Class 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the subjects and have secured at least 50% marks in their aggregate. Likewise, in the executive level management courses such as MBA, BBA any graduate from any discipline with 50% marks are eligible to apply. Gujcet, gate, cat, mat are accepted examination in case the candidate has appeared for any of the above examination.
As for the admission process of the academic year 2024-2025, HNGU has released a probable date sheet and schedule for the admission tests of all the UG and PG courses. While GUJCET 2024 will be held in April 2nd week, the GATE 2024 examination will take place in the first week of February. The management entrance tests namely CAT, MAT, XAT etc for national level admission will be from October to December 2023. The admission process for different HNGU courses will begin from April/May every year for the academic session 2024-2025. Under exceptional cases, candidates will be admitted on the basis of entrance examination results; performance in qualifying examinations and interview. Admission is on merit, as well as entrance tests, but the process can differ depending on departments and programs. The academic session will start for newcomers from July/August semester for new admission.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Passing in B.Sc. is mandatory for the candidates willing to appear for the particular post. A pass in the Bachelor of Science degree from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission with minimum of 50% marks in the ‘aggregate’ (for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Differently-abled candidates 45% marks).
2. Admission will be based on merit of the qualifying examination to ensure that it provides quality education to all students.
3. Same applying to, if two or more candidates have proved equally suitable, preference shall be given to the candidate who has obtained better grades in he subject which the candidate intends to pursue.
4. If the merit is still the same, then the person with most total B.Sc. will be considered. percentage.
5. In case there is still a draw, the last criterion will be seniority where the older candidate will be preferred.
6. Aspirants who want to get admitted to the Master of Science degree, Physics must have passed B.Sc., though there are some Universities that accept Two (2) A’ level in relevant subjects with a Pass in B.Sc. This school requires pupils to learn with Physics as one of the core subject areas.
7. Thus, candidates should take the HNGU entrance test for admission and meet the minimum marks as prescribed by the University.
