HIHT is a medical college situated in Jolly Grant, Dehradun, in the state of Uttarakhand in India and is known as the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust Dehradun. HIHT was founded in 1989 and is recognized by the Government of India, affiliated with the MCI and NAAC has also given HIHT Grade A and in NIRF India Ranking 2023 among all medical colleges HIHT has secured 86 positions.
It is involved in the provision of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and PhD programmes in the fields of MBBS, MD/MS, nursing, pharmacy, paramedical and other related fields. The most important examination to be taken for admission in the year 2024 are NEET UG conducted in May, 2023 and NEET PG in March, 2024. Only a limited number of students are admitted through national and state level entrance exams. It is normally initiated 3-4 months before the start of the course. Selection includes the qualifying examination, the personal interview rounds. Seat intake depends on the discipline, and ranges from 150 for MBBS to 30-35 for MD/MS branches. Duration of programs offered is 4.5 years for MBBS as well as 1 year internship, 3 years for pharmacy, nursing, para-medical diplomas and 2-3 years for post graduate medical degrees.

Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Age and Gender: Programs are for males and females and are generally for individuals who are 18 through 65 years of age depending on the program. Some programs are further limited by age.
2. Health Status: Targeted participants should be in good physical and psychological health, and must not have chronic diseases. Certain illnesses that are long-term in nature may be manageable. A physician approval form is mandatory.
3. Personal Interview: Interested persons have to fill out a questionnaire and then meet the program coordinator either in person or on the phone, to talk about their plans, expectations, and concerns.
4. Deposit: However, upon admission into the program, one is supposed to pay an amount as a deposit depending on the number of days of the program. Call deposit is not refundable but can be forwarded to the next program in case of an early notice.
5. Terms and Conditions: Participants must first be presented with the program terms and conditions of the program rules, codes of conducts, risks and liabilities, payments and cancellations among others as a prerequisite to accepting the program and participating in it.
6. Payments: Program fees should be fully paid to cover the program cost as stipulated in the payment plan provided here. Payments made after the due date attract a fee or lead to a cancellation if prior arrangements are not made. It is possible to find financial help.
