Himalayiya University Dehradun provides different Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in engineering, management, commerce, arts and science, education, law etc., Science The admission criteria differ from course to course. In general, for BTech programs such as CSE, ECE, ME, Civil and the like, the basic requirement is to secure 50% marks in PCM subjects while in 12th standard. BBA and MBA courses take 50% cut in 12th. The BCom program demands the candidate to pass the 12th standard examination with minimum 50% marks. For the BA program, the candidate can join after the completion of 12th in any stream with minimum 50% in aggregate. The BEd program can be pursued only after a graduation degree and by clearing an entrance exam. LLB can be done after graduation in any stream. Accepted entrance exams are JEE Main, CAT, MAT, UPSEE, UKSEE etc in addition to national level entrance exams.
Currently, the University teaches approximately 100 courses in 17 departments. UTMs include B. Tech, M. Tech, B. Sc, M. Sc, B. BA, MBA, LLB, BA, MA, BEd, BPEd, BHF, BFAD, MCom. UG program examinations are conducted in April-May, 2024 and the PG programs have their sessions from July, 2024. The admission process includes registration, filling up of an application form, submission of documents, payment of the application fee, scheduling of an interview, and final admission after passing the interview. Marks obtained in the entrance examination are also used in selecting candidates for admission alongside their marks in qualifying examinations. The academic session starts in the last week of August.

5. You must upload your scanned passport size photograph and signature in the format and size as specified.
6. Make the payment of the application fee online depending on the payment gateway of your preference.
7. Complete the application form and print it out because it will be useful for further use. Lastly, you will be given an application number.
8. If short listed you will be invited for counselling round. Original documents and admission fees should be produced for verification and admission purposes.
- The admission is given on merit in the qualifying examination, which is class 12th and the entrance examination conducted by the university.
- For the candidates to be considered for the position, they should have passed their 12th standard education in any field with a minimum of 50% overall percentage.

9. After applying, you are required to wait for the university to consider your application and get back to you if you have been selected. It also allows tracking application status on the portal as well.
10. Attend counseling rounds or admission rounds as per timetable after the release of the selection list.
