IIM Shillong is amongst the most prestigious management schools in India which works towards the overall development of the students. An autonomous public business school was established in the year 2007 and it includes postgraduate, doctoral and executive educations. IIM Shillong is a member of the IIMs and has been allowed by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to operate and functions as an Institute of National Importance as per the IIM Act of 2017. 

NAAC Grade of the Institute is A + and the IIM Shillong has secured its position in NIRF Ranking 2023 for management institutes in India at 19th. The university has a modern campus at Shillong which is also called the ‘Scotland of the East’ because of its natural beauty and calm setting. Stretched across 200 acres of land, our campus forms a perfect environment for learning and development.

The major postgraduate diploma programmes include the field of Management, Analytics, Healthcare Management, Development Practice, and Sustainability offered by IIM Shillong. The admission process includes qualifying exams such as CAT/GMAT/GRE/GATE or test scores achieved in the undergraduate program along with personal interviews.  

The placement cell at IIM Shillong aids the process that offers the students’ internship and final placements. Some of the sectors which offer jobs to fresh graduates include Consultancy, Banking and Finance, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, E-Commerce, Analytics, and more. The campus placement for 2023 saw companies offering the highest CTC of 58.47 LPA and an average of 20.06 LPA. Above 92% of the students of the 2021-23 batch were also placed offering PPOs/PPIs too. Many of the organisations that have recruited students from IIM Shillong include some giants like amazon, Asian Paints, Deloitte, EY, Infosys, Tata steel etc till now a total of 120 companies.

The IIM Shillong placements for the 2021-23 batch were also impressive, with Microsoft, Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company, Accenture Strategy, PwC, TAS, and Deloitte, among others, offering lucrative job opportunities. In this season, the students were able to clinch 140 placement offers. The median was 25 LPA and the maximum package offered was 58.46 LPA up from last year 15%. The most represented fields that offered students jobs were consulting, finance & banking, general management, IT & operations, and e commerce. Employment offers were seen in consultancy services at approximately 35.7%, while finance / banking sector offered 32.9% of the total job roles.
