IIM Visakhapatnam - Admission, Courses, Fees & Rankings 2024

IIM Visakhapatnam also known as IIMV is one of the newest and premier Institute of Management in india, which was set up in the year of 2015 by the Government of India. IIM Visakhapatnam is also an autonomous institution that has been given recognition by the Ministry of Education and affiliation with UGC. It was further accredited by NAAC in 2020 and the institute received Grade ‘A’ accreditation. In the NIRF Rankings for the year 2023, IIM Visakhapatnam secured the 32nd position overall for all the management institutes situated in India. 

IIM Visakhapatnam offers postgraduate diploma programs in management in the streams of Marketing, Finance, Operation, HR, IT & System, Economics & Strategy. The admission procedure is based on taking CAT exam, and the next step is an interview. It will be interesting to work with the faculty members of Manipal University since the admission of the 2024 batch will be in November 2023 while classes begin in June 2024. There is still no information on the examination dates that are set by the institute for the students.

1. 10+2 with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in any discipline for Bachelors Degree and 50% marks in the respective discipline for equivalent degree. 

2. Valid CAT/GMAT/GRE score. CAT given preference. Minimum threshold values that are permitted across the categories. 

3. Experience not mandatory but preferred for enhancing the prospects in the general category. 

4. No upper age limit imposed but if the applicant age is high, then it becomes tough to avail any education loans.

5. Other attributes considered in the selection process include effective communication, leadership skills, youth achievements in other activities such as games and music.

6. Those are CAT score, academics, work experience, diversity, performance in Written Ability Test and Personal Interview rounds are the shortlisting criteria.

IIM Visakhapatnam Placements 2024

Placement season for the PGP 2024 batch of IIM Visakhapatnam has come to a successful close with 100% placements. The highest recruiter of consulting roles was the Boston Consulting Group with 5 students being offered positions in the field. The maximum offer given to the students reached INR 58.47 lakhs per annum and the average offered salary was INR 25.01 lakhs per annum which was a 15% raise than placements of previous year. Some of the notable recruiters that participated in the event were Deutsche Bank, Microsoft, Deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, PwC, Alvarez & Marsal, J P Morgan Chase & Co, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, Mondelez International and many more. In the summative, the placements suggested that the new IIM was off to a good beginning given high levels of industry engagement. The institute also saw a 54% raise in pre-placement offers too.
