The Institute of Advanced Research (IAR) situated in Gandhi Nagar, Gandhinagar is offering various UG and PG courses for students in faculties of science, commerce, arts, Technology, Management, Law. The basic requirement for admission in any of the course is passing the 12th standard examination in respective stream with minimum 50%-60% aggregate marks from any reputed board. For admission to engineering, law, science streams at IAR, GUJCET, JEE Main, CLAT, LSAT.
Some of the major streams at Institute of Advanced Research, Gandhinagar include Engineering including CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Science which includes Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biotechnology, Commerce, Arts and Humanities, Law and so on the entire admission process begins in January every year and students are allowed to apply with the required application forms.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. Proof of identity, proof of date of birth, and proof of address through any of the forms, including Aadhaar card, driving license, or passport.
2. The certificates and mark sheets of the 10th and 12th standard issued by the respective education boards as evidence that you have passed these qualifying examinations.
3. Original and certified copies of degree certificate and mark sheets of passing examination in case of Graduation and provisional passing certificate in case of final degree certificate is not available.
4. Original certificate that show candidate falls under reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC certificate issued by appropriate authority.
5. This involves an official document known as the transfer certificate or school/college leaving certificate from the last educational institution attended.
6. Photographs: passport size photographs and if required affidavit or gap certificate to show the interruption in study.
1. The eligibility criteria which should be checked include 10+2 marks for UG courses, marks in entrance examination for PG and graduation marks with entrance examination marks for PG.
2. They should be filled online or by post before the specified date along with other documents required and the application fees.
3. If any then appear for the entrance exam conducted by the institute for admitting the students.
4. To know whether one has been selected the merit list is released and one should check on whether his/her name is included on the list.
5. Pay fees and submit some documents when called upon to do so within the given time for confirmation of admission if qualified.
6. When given a go-ahead into the program register for the program and join the program as per the calendar.
1. Eligibility criteria – The eligibility criteria one must have passed 12th in science with at least 45% marks from a recognized board.
2. Those who fit the above criteria must apply online by completing the application form on the website of the employing authority.
3. Online application fees – While applying the candidates have to pay the application fees online through the form. For this reason, fees vary depending on the category of a candidate .
4. Entrance examination – Candidates who meet these requirements are required to write the institute’s entrance examination that take place at various centers. It tests general aptitude.
5. Merit list - Entrance exam marks/ 12th percentage is taken and merit lists are created which is also posted on the web site.
6. Counseling & admission – The selected candidates are invited for the document verification and counseling sessions, where students are offered an option to choose the seat according to merit, preference and the availability of the seat.

1. Check eligibility – The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% and the university should be a recognized university.
2. Application format from the office and the completed application form along with the necessary documents must be submitted before the specified date.
3. CAT – Crack the Common Admission Test conducted in November/December with good percentile. This shows that IAR considers CAT score in their selection process.
4. Group discussion – The applicants who performed well in CAT are given a chance to write an essay and take an aptitude test before they sit for group discussion.
5. Written test – After that group discussion round is followed by general aptitude, interests and attitude of the candidates checked in the personal interview round.
6. Check merit list – List of final merit for candidates is declared depending on the candidate’s performance in CAT, GD & PI rounds.
7. Admission and fees payment – Aspirants, who have been offered admission can do so by paying the fees as charged.

1. Check the eligibility criteria such as education qualification, entrance exam scores mentioned on the institute’s website.
2. Find the research area of interest and the possible supervisor out of the list.
3. Obtain application form, get ready with proposal to be submitted, look for other necessary papers.
4. Complete the application form and the documents and fees required to be attached must be forwarded to the college before the date stated.
5. Take entrance test and/or sit for interview where and when institutional policy requires.
6. Visit the concerned institute’s admission list section either on the institute’s website or in the notice board and get admission done in the selected course if listed.
7. To obtain admission and enroll for the Ph.D program, present originals of relevant documents and pay fees for admission.
