Birsa Institute of Technology or in short BIT is a private engineering college which is situated at Ranchi in the Indian state of Jharkhand. BIT was set up in 2000 and it is approved by AICTE, New Delhi It has NAAC accreditation with B++ grade. In the most recent NIRF rankings 2023, BIT stands 201-250 in the engineering colleges category in India.
BIT has programs for undergraduate and postgraduate levels in several areas of engineering such as computer science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering etc. The institute has a semester pattern of academics and the end semester examinations are held in December and May respectively. BIT offers its BTech programme for students who passed JEE Main ;thus, students need to produce their JEE Main score to be considered for admission to the university. Birsa Institute of Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For everything as of the BTech programs, candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent in PCM/PCB streams with at least 60% marks in aggregate. Should have a valid score in JEE Mains or any other national/ state level test for engineering admission.
2. For MTech programs, candidates should have passed BTech/BE or any equivalent degree in the related discipline, with not less than 60% aggregate marks. MTech candidates should have GATE qualification to get through the course.
3. It is mandatory that the MBBS aspirant should have cleared their 10+2 or equivalent examination with fifty percent in PCB. Should have qualified in medical entrance exams like NEET and must have passed with the required cutoff.
4. For admission to BBA and BCA programs, the candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. There is no entrance examination to sit for, but a direct admission is granted based on merit.
5. For MBA, admission is open to all graduates in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Qualification for the programme is through entrance examination such as CAT or MAT. Work experience relating to the job criteria was considered and given more importance.
