Jai Prakash University (JPU) is a state private university that is situated in Chapra, Bihar. JPU was set up in 1990 and is affiliated to the UGC and NAAC has accredited the University with a B++ grade. In the NIRF rankings released in the year 2023, JPU was placed at a position in the band of 101-150 universities in India.

1. Bachelor's Degree Programs
Candidates must have cleared the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Some programs may have other subjects’ requirements as well.
2. Master's Degree Programs
A minimum of 50% marks in the Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university is required. It is also important to note that some programs may have additional requirements.
3. MPhil Programs
Any candidate applying for the post must have had a Master’s degree in the relevant subject from any recognized university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. They also have to sit and pass the university entrance examination for candidates.
4. PhD Programs
Minimum eligibility criteria for the candidates are Master’s degree in relevant subject with at least 55% marks or M.Phil in the relevant subject. They also have to pass the entrance exam of the university and the interview that follows.
5. Diploma Programs
It is mandatory for the candidates to have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board. There are cases that certain diploma programs may have prerequisite subjects that the candidates must take.
6. Certificate Programs
Normally minimum qualification needed is Matriculation pass or 10th standard pass from a recognized board. Certain certificate programmes which are designed for skill enhancement may have certain other requirements for admission.
