Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), Krishnankovil is a Deemed – University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, a private institution located in a vast campus area of 500 acres. These include the following: Undergraduate and post graduate courses in various fields and disciplines such as Engineering, Science, Arts, Pharmacy, Agriculture and Teacher Education. Few of the popular departments include the biotechnology, nanotechnology, computer science, aeronautical engineering mechatronics and microbiology departments. It depends on the courses they offer – For engineering, only 50% in Physics, chemistry, and math in class 12 can apply. Medical courses expect a minimum of 50% marks in PCB, as already mentioned by the respective authorities. Degree common courses need a pass certificate of class twelfth. 1. The applicant must have completed the 10+2 level examination by passing the Higher Secondary exam with not less than fifty percent marks (fifty percent in aggregate for SC/ST category).
2. The process of selection will be merit-based, whereby candidates will be selected depending on the number of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology/ Botany, and Zoology in the qualifying examination. Marks for subject combination of pcm/pcb will be added together and the total of 300 will be considered while preparing merit list.
3. Application forms will be available in the Kalasalingam University website and candidates will have to write the Kalasalingam University Entrance Exam (KLEE) conducted by the university. Another criterion for selection will be one’s performance in the entrance exam that is always set for all students joining the school.
4. However, in case of a tie result in the entrance test then the candidate with higher percentage marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) will be given preference. In case of tie in the additional criteria also, then the candidate who is older in age will be preferred.

1. Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent with main subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
2. Admission will be made strictly on merit under the norms laid down by the University or on the basis of the marks secured in the qualifying examination i.e. 10+2 or its equivalent. In case of tie, the school or program with higher marks will be preferred.
3. Admissions under management quota seats: The selection candidates for the seats under this category will be purely at the discretion of the management.
4. In case of NRI/PIO/FN candidates, the selection will be made on the basis of percentage of marks in the qualifying examination 10+2 or equivalent examination or in case of those candidates who have appeared for the SAT Subject Tests as and when they are held.
5. This means that in the event that two or more candidates obtain the same score, the candidate who scores a higher mark or percentile score in Maths will be given priority. If the tie remains. the candidate closer to the retiring age will be the one to be hired.
