Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) is a fully residential tertiary education establishment situated at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Integrated Social Services Schools or KISS was started in the year 1993 as an institution that offers education for free to the indigenous from kindergarten level to post graduate level. It is officially affiliated with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and is recognized by NAAC with Grade A+, The KISS Deemed University has secured its position in NIRF ranking 2023 among the universities in India with 75 rank.
Currently the institute provides many programs in the faculties of science, commerce, arts, teacher education, law, rural management, computer application, journalism. Regarding the admission, there is no need for entrance examination since admission is based on merit for most of the programs, although some programs have their own tests.
Some of the companies that carry out campus interviews at KISS are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank. The average of the percentage of students placed in these companies is well above 85% every year, and the freshers’ starting packages range from 3-5 LPA. Currently, in on-campus recruitment, the highest salary package has been 16 lakh per annum offered by financial service firms.

Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. 10+2 pass in any stream from a recognized board to pursue under graduate programs like BA, BSW, BSc.
2. An academic qualification equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in any field for postgraduate courses such as MA, MSW, MSc. Minimum 50% aggregate marks.
3. For MPhil, the candidate must possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.
4. University is recognized in PhD, it requires Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks with qualified NET/SLET score.
5. For diploma and certification programs, one needs to have passed in 10+2 examination in any stream as mentioned before.
6. To join in the second year through the lateral entry, the candidates should possess a diploma in the related undergraduate stream with not less than 60% of the marks.

The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) have been ranked as one of the companies that offer their students very good placement services. Many reputed organizations including TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL and Accenture come for campus itself in every year for the selection of their employees. Out of all the IT companies that visited KISS, TCS offered the most number of placements in 2023 with over 120 students placed at the firm. The maximum of the salary packages offered were up to Rs, 10 lakhs per year by a leading analytics firm. The average sponsorship money distributed to the target students ranged between Rs 3-6 lakh from leading IT services, banking and manufacturing companies.
