For the Bachelor degree such as BA Music and BA Dance, students should have passed 12th in the respective stream. The BA Theatre course is an open stream course and students from any faculty can apply for it in 12th. There is also a 4-year integrated course Bachelor of Performing Arts available for the students who have passed 10+2 examination from any stream. Postgraduate programs such as MA (Music), MA (Dance) admits candidates with a degree in the related UG discipline. University also provides diploma courses in music, dance and yoga for the students who have passed 10+2 examination. The Dance department has the eligibility of passing Class 12 in any stream or equivalent from a recognized board for Bachelor of Performing Arts program. For the Bachelor of Fine Arts program for Painting department, the candidate must have passed Class 12 with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Vocal Music and Instrumental Music departments provide B. Mus (Hons) for which the eligibility is Class 12 pass in any stream. The qualifying examinations accepted by the university for admission in the under graduate programmes include CBSE, ICSE, State Boards etc., for the related specialized departments offering under graduate programmes in the above said specializations. The university provides the bachelor of arts programs in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Dance, Drama, etc.

The admission criteria for the PhD dance program involves possessing a Master’s degree in Indian Classical Dance styles such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak, Odissi or Mohiniyattam with at least 55 % marks. The PhD Music department offers admission to those candidates who possess Master’s degree in Hindustani Vocal/Instrumental Music or Karnatak Vocal/Instrumental Music with minimum 55% marks. Qualifying marks in UGC NET, JRF, SLET, SET, or university test is compulsory. The university provides full time as well as part time PhD programs in the fields of Dance, Indian Music, Western Music, Theatre, Television & Film studies.
