Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) is a public university situated in Kerala with a primary objective of providing education and research support in the field of veterinary and animal sciences as well as dairying and animal husbandry. It is a state-funded institute established in 2010 and recognized by the Veterinary Council of India and approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. KVASU has NAAC Grade ‘A’ and occupies the position of 36th under universities category in NIRF 2023 ranking in the country.
The university provides undergraduate and post graduate degrees in veterinary disciplines such as animal sciences and veterinary medicine. Major programs encompass B.V.Sc & A.H., B.Tech in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, B.Sc. courses like Animal Biotechnology, Aquaculture etc. KVASU conducts its own entrance examinations during the months of July-August for admission and after the examination the counseling is organized in order to issue seats. Other post graduate courses such as M.V.Sc., M.Sc., M.Tech., Ph.D., also accept the scorecards of the national-level exams such as ICAR-NET, GATE which are released in September/ October 2024 respectively.
