Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV) is a state university which is situated in Nagaon, Assam. It was established in the year 2013 and is a state university located in Assam which is recognised by the UGC. MSSV has achieved B++ accreditation from NAAC in the year 2022. 1. As for the undergraduate programs, the students have to pass the 10+2 or equivalent examination and secure at least 50% of the total aggregate marks for general candidates and 45% of total marks for reserved candidates. Field prerequisites depend on the selected academic program.
2. For postgraduate programs, the candidate must have completed a relevant undergraduate program with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates). The requirements of a subject differ from one department to another.
3. For MPhil and PhD, applicants must have a postgraduate degree in relevant subject with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). There are also additional entrance examination and interview needed.
4. For diploma and certification programs, 10+2 examination qualification is needed. Specific subjects required may also differ according to the program sought.
5. According to the government norms regarding the reserved category applicants, they are given a relaxation of 5% on the minimum marks. Community wise: SC/ST/OBC/PWD.
