MNLU Mumbai, also known as Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, delivers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in multiple fields of law. The process of admission in Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai is both online and offline procedures are involved. To apply for admission to the 5-year integrated BA LLB program, candidates are required to go through the official website www.nlumumbai.com and register themselves along with uploading the scanned copies of the applicable documents. Offline forms are also provided in the university office where the forms can be collected, completed, and sent along with self-attested copies of relevant documents and the application fee in form of cash or demand draft.

As for the application process, it is usually opened in April of the year. The minimum educational qualification to appear for this exam is the completion of 12th standard in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate for the general candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates. Clat score is used in selecting candidates for admission into the Common Law program for the first year and the LLM program. The Clarkson University accepts students on the basis of merit which includes CLAT score, 12th board marks, reservation policies and the number of open seats for each course. MNLU Mumbai L.L.M. Selection Criteria

- The university currently offers only undergraduate law programme and students will be admitted based on the cumulated scores of the Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai Entrance Test (MNLU-MET). This is a national level entrance examination and the candidates are required to give this examination.

- For the LLM program, candidates have to secure a minimum of 50 percent marks, which is 45 percent in case of SC/ST in their 3-year or 5-year law degree.

- Interviews are conducted with students who obtained appropriate results on entrance tests and who are shortlisted. The interview attracts 15 marks.

- Interview: 30%, Final selection is based on the candidate’s entrance test score with a weight of 70 and interview with the weight of 30.

- There are also some fixed few seats for the candidates of the respective reserved categories according to the norms set by the government.

- In addition to academic performance, others factors such as documents published, papers presented in conferences, medals/achievement etc. are also considered.

MNLU Mumbai L.L.M. How To Apply?

1. Eligibility: You should have a 5 year or 3 year LLB degree with minimum 50% marks, whereas for the SC/ST students the percentage required is 45%.

2. Application Process:

- Interested applicants need to apply on a basis of an admission notice usually announced in May or June.

- This means that an applicant has to submit an online application and submit the necessary documents in scanned form.

- Though there is a fee for application, it can be paid online.

3. Required Documents: Tenth class marksheets, twelfth class marksheets, graduation marksheets, LLB degree, work experience certificate if any, NET/LSAT score if any, photo id proof etc.

4. Selection Process: Admission is done based on merit where merit means your LLB performance, score in the entrance exam, that is GNLU LAW PI-LLM Entrance Test, and the personal interview. 

5. Dates: The notification is usually out in May/June The examination is usually held in the month of September. Exams are in June/July. They expect results before July. It takes a month and half or two months in case the classes start by the first week of September.

MNLU Mumbai Ph.D. (Law) Admission 2024

- Announcements are made through advertisements in leading National Newspapers and on this University Website usually during May–June. These may differ depending on the actual calendar year it is being implemented.

- Specific educational qualifications include possession of a Master of Law degree (LLM), with a minimum of 55% of marks or equivalent. Concessions may be granted to the candidates belonging to SC/ST category according to the norms.

- The application form has to be filled and attached with the documents like xerox copies of certificates and marksheets, experience certificate, if any, research proposal, etc. 

- It is also important to note that students who will be interested in undertaking these courses at the university will be required to undertake an entrance examination and/or interview by the university authorities.

MNLU Mumbai Ph.D. (Law) Selection Criteria

- Candidates must possess a Master of Laws (LLM) degree by completion of their prior studies with a minimum of 55% marks.

- One of the essential requirements is the completion of a writing entrance examination that includes research and subject aptitude tests along with the general areas of law. The applicants are then summoned to the hiring company for an interview if they have been selected as finalist.

- The final score is compiled with the help of a written test which is given 75% weight and interview test which is given weightage of 25%.

- Incase of reserved category candidate, minimum passing percentage of marks is 5% less than that prescribed for general candidates. Like the previously mentioned categories, the candidates with different abilities also receive 5% in marks relaxation.

- As for the other subject areas, the candidates who passed the UGC/CSIR-NET/SLET/GATE or teacher fellowship holders are freed from writing the written examination and can appear directly in the interview.

- It is also during the interview that the proposed research area, the ability to carry out the research, the subject knowledge and communication skills are tested.

- Final selection will be effected from the collective performance of the candidate in the written test and Interview and as restricted by number of vacancies available, reservation policy etc.

1. To find out when admissions for PhD courses are open, one can either visit the official university website or use other means to contact the university. They generally commence in the middle of the year, particularly May and June.
