Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University is a state university affiliated public university in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India. It was established in the year 2010 and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and holds a B++ Grade. According to the NIRF ranking system of 2023 it came on the 76th position among the universities in India. In addition to this, it offers courses in arts, commerce, science, education, law and technology, and is renowned for its Sanskrit education and research.
The faculties available in the university for carrying UG, PG, and doctoral degree programs are faculties of Sanskrit Vyakaran, Sahitya, Darshan, Jyotish, Vedic Karmakand and Education. 1. For UG programs candidate must pass 10+2 in respective stream from recognized board and must have minimum 45-60% aggregate for certain course.
2. For PG programs, the eligibility criteria require the candidate to have completed the relevant UG degree with a minimum of 45-60% aggregate percentage depending on the program.
3. For MPhil, PG degree in the relevant subject securing at least 55% of aggregate marks.
4. PhD, Post graduate degree with minimum 55% of aggregate marks with NET/SLET or equivalent test for the General category.
5. Those percentages are based on government norms of relaxation in percentage for reserved category candidates.
6. University also offers diploma, certificate courses with admission criteria 10+2 pass or any equivalent examination.
The modern Maharishi Valmiki Sanskrit University also has a placement cell, which contributes to the employment of students with various organizations. ICT companies that source candidates from this campus for employment include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and Cognizant. A maximum of Rs. 8 lakhs per annum has been offered by the TCS to the students of this university.
