Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, established at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, facilitates numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programs in arts, science, commerce, law, education and management streams. The specific requirements for entry also differ based on the chosen department and course type. For BA the eligibility criteria is pass in 12th standard in particular stream with the subjects defined by the university. For engineering the entrance tests that are recognized are JEE Main, for MBA the test accepted are CAT, MAT, XAT, for MCA the test accepted is UPSEE.

- Combined for state level seats, the admissions are made according to the rank of Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE). This is done for different programmes as well as categories and cutoffs are declared, followed by the counselling process in which seats are filled according to ranks obtained in UPSEE, preferences of the candidate and the number of seats available.
- Even the selection process of students for management quota seats may vary from institute to institute based on certain criterion such as the marks scored in 10+2 examination, or institute level entrance tests, personal interview etc and above all the capacity to pay the fees structure of management quota.
- For the seats which are done through the national level examination such as JEE Mains examinations, admissions are done on the basis of the counseling and the rank/score of the candidate obtained in the JEE Mains examination. These cutoffs can vary based on the branch/program they are offering, the institute they belong to and the categories etc.
- It shall also accommodate some seats for lateral entry for diploma holders based on their diploma grade.

2. Eligibility Criteria- In order to have passed this exam, you must have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects. A pass with minimum of 60 % marks ( 55% for SC/ST) in PCM grouping.
3. Entrance Exams- For admission into M.Tech programme, you will need to write Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) conducted by Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).
4. Counselling Process - In case you pass the UPSEE examination, you are required to undergo counselling sessions that determine your seat. The colleges and the specific seats in those will be assigned to you according to your rank in UPSEE, your choices filled and the options available.
5. Documents Required- They should bring 10th and 12th mark sheets, UPSEE admit card, rank card, category certificates (if applicable), passport photos etc. at the counselling time.
- Entrance Test Performance – It is also important to note that majority of universities administer their test for admission into their Ph.D program. In most cases, the display in this exam is the first filter before choosing candidates for the next level.
- Performance in Qualifying Degrees – It measures the candidate’s performance in the postgraduate and undergraduate degrees attained by the candidates. Higher percent and ranks are normally desired.
- Interview – candidates who performed well and qualified in the written test and academic test are taken through an interview. The interview panel assesses the candidate’s research abilities and the knowledge of the given subject matter.
- Research Proposal – Some universities expect the candidate to attach a research proposal alongside the application. The novelty and relevance of the proposed research topic, feasibility of the proposed research, the actual approach to the problem and the overall scope of the proposed study are evaluated.
- Interest in the Topic – The willingness of a scholar to work on a proposed topic and the availability of a supervisor in the department are also considered during the selection process.
