Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), previously abbreviated as MREC, is one of the reputed National Institutes of Technology in India located in the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. The MNIT Jaipur was established in 1963 and is one of the 25 institutes of eminence in India according to the Government of India. The NIRF India Rankings 2023 have placed the institute in under 25 position out of all the institutions. MNIT has also been accredited as grade ‘A’ under NAAC with CGPA of 3.53 on a 4 point scale. 

It provides schooling at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a wide range of courses. The course provided under the BTech programs are in specialties such as computer science, electrical, electronics, mechanical, chemical, civil and other engineering disciplines. MTech is available in engineering and technology disciplines and MCA also. Admission to the B.Tech programme for the year 2024 will involve appearing for the JEE Mains examination as well as counseling. For MTech, there is a qualifying GATE exam required to be cleared by the candidates. The admission season usually is during April, May of the following year. Malaviya National Institute of Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. For candidates who are seeking admission in BTech, the candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent in PCM subjects with a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ ST category). Candidates must also hold a valid score in the Joint Entrance Examination Main.

2. For MTech programs, the candidates must possess BTech/ BE or equivalent in the concerned branch of engineering with not less than 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST category). It is desirable to have graduation degree from any of the campuses of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or having qualified GATE.  

3. The admission criteria for MSc programs are: Candidates should possess the BSc degree in relevant subjects with not less than 60% marks or 55% for SC/ST candidates. Entrance examination certification relevant to the course is mandatory.  

4. For admission to PhD programs, the candidates should have a BTech/BE/MSc/MTech degree in appropriate disciplines with not less than 60% marks for any category candidates and 55% marks for SC/ST category candidates. GATE/NET qualification is desirable.

5. For MBA programme, the candidate should have passed 10+2+3 degree examination in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (55% in case of SC/ST) for taking admission. Entrance test is essential but the score that a candidate will obtain in the test must be relevant.

Malaviya National Institute of Technology Courses Details 2024

MNIT formerly Malaviya Regional Engineering College is one of the most popular among all the National Institutes of Technology in India. Born in 1963 in the ‘Pink City of India’, it provides B.Tech. and M.Tech programs in various engineering and technology fields. 

MNIT provides BTech in Civil, Electrical mechanical and Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical and Material Science Engineering among others. It also provides MTech and PhD programs in these departments. BTech has the B Tech entrance examination while the MTech has the GATE qualification for admission.
