Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University (MMHAPU) is one of the leading Arabic, Persian, Islamic studies and other language universities situated at Patna in Bihar. MMHAPU was set up in 1992 by the Government of Bihar based in Mudhwa and is UGC recognized that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programmes. It has got ‘A’ grade from NAAC in 2022 to show its quality of education. According to NIRF Ranking 2023, MMHAPU has emerged as the 101st University in India.
MMHAPU provides different courses irrespective of the discipline. These are offered by its Faculty of Arts and Languages which consist of BA Arabic, Persian, Urdu, English as well as other language programs. There are also Masters programs in these languages in addition to Management, Mass Communication, Education and Library Science. The undergraduate programmes have 10+2 system for passing the previous class while the postgraduate programmes have to clear admission tests. For 2024 academic year intakes, the admission forms will be from May 2023 while siting the entrance examination will be in June 2023.
The university has the following affiliations with companies and organizations for internships and placements of its students. Major recruiters are news media organizations, educational institutions, the tourism sector and embassies that demand graduates proficient in Arabic, Persian and other foreign languages. A number of these recruiters have placed many students with handsome salary pay packages of up to 7 lacs per annum. MMHAPU has also experienced a gradual increase in placements over the years because of its industry-oriented language programs yielding workforce-appropriate graduates. The placement rate stands at 65 percent and the rate is expected to grow in the coming years.

Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Afliate Madrasa Stream Students – The candidate should have passed 10th standard from any recognized Madrasa recognized by West Bengal Madrasa Board with not less than 50% of marks. Age is limited up to 22 years.
2. Hifz Stream Students – Successfully memorized the Qur’an and must have passed at least the 10th standard from any recognized Madrasa in West Bengal with at least 50% of marks. No age limit.
3. General Stream Students – Must have passed 12th standard from West Bengal Higher Secondary Board or any other equivalent board with minimum 45% marks. Age limit is 22 years.
4. Diploma Stream Students – Passed madrasa diploma from a recognized madrasa in West Bengal with 50% marks or above. No age limit.
5. Bridge Course Stream Students – Those who passed 10th standard and have also done the bridge course conducted by the university with minimum 50% marks. Age limit is 22 years.
6. International Students - Completed 12th grade or any equivalent qualification from any recognised school board. The minimum age requirement is 17 years while the maximum age requirement is 25 years.

Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University has decent placement of students placing every year. Some of the companies who visit the campus include, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra for students’ recruitment. Campus recruitment is another service offered by the university where 58 percent of the qualified students got placed in the year 2022. The maximum salary that was offered was Rs 7, 00,000 per annum from Infosys and the minimum and average salary was between Rs 3, 50,000 to 4, 00, 000 per annum. A vast majority of the students got placed in IT service companies and other students got placed in education, banking and financial service sectors.
