Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (NDUAT) is one of the state universities in the field of agriculture in Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded in 1974 is included in the UGC list of recognized universities and has NAAC accreditation ‘A’ grade. As per the NIRF ranking 2023, NDUAT has entered into the band of 51-60 in the category of Agricultural Universities of India. 

There are undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies under various fields of specialization of agricultural science in the university. Some of the significant courses available across the different faculties include; BSc Agriculture, horticulture, forestry, and agricultural engineering. For the purpose of admission in the 2024 batch, the admission committee will accept the scores of state or national level tests. The application forms are expected to be available in March 2024 online at the university’s website exam usually follow in the months of May-June. Finally, contenders who have been offered admission can attend counselling sessions based on merit.

Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. The minimum requirement for the admission in BSc Agriculture is 10+2 science stream pass with minimum 50% marks. They should have also sat for the physics, chemistry and biology/mathematics/agriculture subjects for admission into any institution.

2. For BSc Horticulture qualification requirement include passing the 10+2 examination in the science stream with physics, chemistry and biology/mathematics subjects. Passing criterion is a minimum of 50% of the total marks that the candidate has appeared in the examination for him/her to be considered eligible.  

3. For the admission to the course, MSc Agriculture, the candidate must have cleared BSc Agriculture from a recognized university with aggregate of 60% or above. Admission is given to the GATE/NET qualified candidates only.

4. The candidates who want to get admitted in MBA Agribusiness programme have to meet the following admission criteria: The candidate should have completed their Bachelors degree from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. A candidate who wants to apply for the admission should have completed the final year exams, however, should meet the requirements.

5. For admission into PhD research programs, candidates must possess Master’s degree in agriculture, horticulture or in fields relevant to specialization in any accredited college. It involves entrance test and/or interview by the university for the students across discipline as part of the shortlisting process. 

6. Diploma courses in agriculture generally require the candidate to have passed the 10+2 examination in the science stream, having studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics. The minimum pass marks for diploma courses on the basis of aggregate is 50% in the 10+2 exams. For appearing candidates, the management provides provisional admission.

The leading industrial houses including Tata, Reliance, Cargill, PepsiCo, Nestle, ITC Limited, etc. itself visit the campus for the purpose of recruitment. The maximum salary offered in the last year was Rs 180000/- per annum for the company Tata. The salary offered varies and the average employee receives approximately between Rs 60000 - Rs 80000 per annum. Some of the bigger fields which have good placements rate are Food Technology, Horticulture, Agribusiness and Environmental Science. The university also possesses a placement and training cell which provides a number of on-campus drives conducted by national as well as multinational organizations every year.
