NIT Sikkim is a National Institute of Technology located at South Sikkim that provides B.Tech degree programmes in Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering streams. The normalized eligibility criteria formulated for the PhD admissions across departments include having a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum 60% of aggregate marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale. This is because the qualified students who aspire to join M.Tech/PhD programs must fulfill the GATE/NET qualification. While there is no specific information about which scope of exams is accepted, according to the different departments, the accepted examination includes GATE, NET, BET, NBHM, CSIR-UGC.NET, etc.
