Pacific Medical University (PMU) is a renowned medical university located in the beautiful city of Udaipur in Rajasthan. PMU was set up in 2015 in Lucknow and is recognized by Medical Council of India and Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The university has also been privileged to have a Grade A status from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Out of the medical colleges in the country, recently in the 2023 NIRF rankings, PMU stands 65.
At its PMU, the university provides various kinds of medical and paramedical programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels. According to the survey conducted in 2022, about 87% of the MBBS passed out students got placed in campus placements either in jobs or in p-g admissions. Some of the recruiting companies as per recent trends are Apollo, Fortis, Manipal, Max and some other healthcare industries; the offered salary package for an MBBS graduate varies between Rs. 35 lakhs per annum to Rs.48 lakhs per annum. Pacific Medical University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For admission to the undergraduate programmes, the candidates must pass their high school and have a cumulative passing grade of 3.0 and scoring a minimum of 1200 in the SAT or minimum of 24 in ACT. A part from examination performance, extra curriculum activities and essay are also considered.
2. The English Language requirements are that the applicant needs to have Bachelor’s degree in their area of specialization with a minimum of 3.0 on a GPA scale and a minimum of 3.2 in their major courses. If possible, the candidate should have research experience in this area as well as experience with simulation-based research.
3. But for one to get into a medical school, he or she should have a Bachelor’s degree, pass certain pre-requisite courses, sit for the Medical College Admission Test or MCAT, and write letters of recommendation. The middle 50 percent of accepted student meet the following academic standards: GPA of 3.6, MCAT score of 508.
4. For allied health professional master’s degree in nursing, public health and nutrition and medical and clinical nutrition coordination, a bachelors degree is mandatory in the same fields of study and the applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and GRE scores of above the fiftieth percentile. Having prior healthcare experience is also a priority.
5. Doctor of Philosophy programs demand Master’s degree in the same area of the discipline, minimum 3.5 GPA, percentile passing in GRE above 60%, academic recommendation letters and a research proposal.
6. All programs demand English language for communication and it may include minimum TOEFL score of 100 or IELTS band 7.0 for all non-native English speakers. Many graduate courses also have minimum subject GRE test scores that have to be met as well.
