Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) is a private University situated in Gandhinagar Gujarat, India and the focus of the University is on innovative research and development in energy, infrastructure & management. PDEU, established in 2007 is a legally allowed private university approved by the UGC and recognized by the Government of Gujarat. It stands with a Grade ‘A’ with a CGPA of 3.31 in the Third Cycle re-accreditation by NAAC in the year 2022. In the recently revealed NIRF Rankings 2023, PDEU has secured 76nd position in the University Rankings in India showing the quality of education and research imparted at this university.  

This university has programs for undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral level in various discipline clusters that include Engineering, Architecture & Planning, Business Studies & Commerce, Computer Applications, Management, and Libral Arts. Some of the large streams are electrical & electronics engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering and computer science & engineering etc. As for the semester examinations, it is held in November/December and April/May every year. Admission for the BTech programmes begins in January through state level examinations like GUJCET as well as national level examination JEE Mains. Admission is given based on merit or through entrance exams and placements are also merit-based. 

PDEU has strong placement cell for its students leading companies visiting the campus from all fields such as L&T, ONGC, IOCL, HPCL, NTPC, TCS, INFOSYS etc hiring the students. In 2021-22, more than 92% of students seeking BTech placements are placed as well as all students seeking MBA placements are placed. The salary trends for the students of BTech showed that the mean salary offer and the mode salary offer were Rs. 6.8 lakhs per annum and Rs 43.6 lakhs per annum respectively. The average salary offered to MBA students was Rs. 7.2 lakhs per annum and the maximum salary being Rs 20 lakhs per annum. PDEU is an institution that provides courses for the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in a number of fields that include engineering, sciences, management, and humanities. PDEU has following schools - School of Technology, School of Petroleum Technology, School of Liberal Studies, and School of Solar Energy.

Programmes offered by the School of Technology include the following BTech program in Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. The School of Petroleum Technology continues to provide education in the field and provides BTech and MTech programmes in upstream and downstream petroleum technology. 

The School of Liberal Studies provides the options of completing the program of Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English Studies, Economics, Psychology, Public Administration, and Performing Arts. The School of Solar Energy is one which mainly deals with renewable energy and it comprises of the BTech and MTech in Solar Energy Engineering.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) is one of the finest Universities in India which offers good placements to it’s students. PDEU has established a record of placing students in various reputed organizations through campus placement in the 2021-22 session, wherein over 200 companies have participated. Prominent employers that participated in the recruitment process were from industries such as Reliance, the Adani Group, Larsen & Toubro, IBM, Capgemini and Infosys amongst others. A record placement of 84.33% of the entire 2021-22 batch was successfully placed through the campus recruitment. In terms of the salary packages, the highest salary offered was Rs. 32 lakh per annum which was presented by American Express. The annual salary offered to the students across the branches was Rs.8.2 lakh and this showed that there were good employment opportunities available for the students passing out from PDEU.
