Solapur University is a public state university established in Solapur, Maharashtra, India and this university is known as Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. It was founded in 2004 and was called Maharani Ahilyadevi Holkar, who was the ruler of the Malwa kingdom. It is UGC approved and acknowledged by the Association of Indian Universities among other universities. The NAAC has accorded it a B+ grade in the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. According to NIRF 2023, it stands in the 151th position among the universities located in India. 

University provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in arts, science, commerce, education, management, and computer science streams. Some of the common courses that are offered include: B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, MBA, MCA, B.ED. The admission process begins in May of the year and while the examination is conducted in the months of October/November and April/May. When it comes to the admission process for the 2024 academic year, the application process is expected to begin in May 2023. In some cases, appearing and qualifying in examinations such as MAH-CET and CMAT or CAT, etc may be necessary for admission into particular programme.

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Candidates who want to study undergraduate programs must produce certificate of 12th grade passed from a recognized board, the percentage required differ according to the course. After that the qualifying exam or entrance test would be conducted, and only the applicants with good performance would make it to the final list.

2. For postgraduate programs, candidates need to have a Bachelors degree in the concerned specialty from a recognized University with minimum percentage standards. Selection is done based on past performance in graduation exam and entrance test conducted by the company.  

3. Candidates for registration for the Ph.D. and integrated programs shall meet the eligibility criteria of educational qualification and entrance test for the course the candidate is seeking admission.

4. SC/ST/OBC/PH etc. category students can prefer the relaxation in the cutoff percentage in qualifying exams which were prescribed by the government.

5. Additional to the basic requirements, international students have extra requirements for the qualifying examination certificates, the scores obtained in English proficiency tests, and the passport/visa documents to be admissible.
