Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is a Central University under the Indian government which was set up in 2020 with an aim to produce dynamic leadership and professionals in policing, criminal justice, and corrections. RRU is approved by UGC, and the university has received ‘A’ grade from NAAC in the recent grading in the year 2022. As per the NIRF 2023 University Rankings released recently, RRU has been ranked at 48th position for universities in India.  

RRU provides several undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and certificate programs in a range of police administration, cyber security, criminology, forensic science and justice studies. Some of the widely taken courses are BA (Hons) in Police Administration, BTech in Cyber Security, MSc Forensic Science, MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice, amongst others. For the 2024-25 academic session enrollment would open from May, 2023. Written aptitude tests will be conducted in June and July and the successful candidates shall sit for group discussions and interviews. By offering specialised programmes, RRU has produced excellent placements over the year as evident herein. The maximum salary package that was offered in 2022 was worth INR 35,00,000 per annum. Over 150 police and paramilitary organizations including BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, IB, CBI, and many police departments from various states regularly take students for placements and offer good positions and handsome salaries. The tendencies of employment are above 85% with average wage beginning from Rs 5 lakhs per annum to Rs 15 lakhs per annum for graduated candidates. This is because RRU has a clear and definite vocational orientation focusing on the production of security graduates with the flexibility needed in the current complex environment for security operations.

Rashtriya Raksha University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. For Bachelors programs like BA, BSc, BCom: Any graduate or 10+2 passed in any stream from any recognized board with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

2. For BTech programs: Minimum qualification for this course is 10+2 passed with Physics, Chemistry and Maths with minimum 60% marks from recognized board 

3. For integrated law programs like BA LLB: Minimum 10+2 passed in any stream with not less than 50% average marks from a recognized board.

4. For Masters programs like MA, MSc: Graduation in relevant specialization and a minimum percentage of 50% aggregate marks.

5. For MTech programs: The candidate must have completed B.Tech./B.E. in the relevant specialization with minimum 60% of marks in aggregate. 

6. For integrated programs like MA LLB: A candidate should possess the Graduation degree in any stream with minimum 50% aggregate marks from any recognized institute.

Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) Gandhinagar, Gujarat being the first National Security University in India is dedicated to learning and developing knowledge in Internal security, Police sciences, training and policy formulation. RRU has undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs as well as certificate programs in policing, internal security, cyber security, artificial intelligence, criminology and forensics. 

Specific UG courses include Ba/BSc/BTeh cyber security/ AI, Police Administration/ Criminology and Forensic Studies and will take 3 years. PG courses are MA, MSc and MTech in security management & cyber security, AI in policing & criminology with a term of 2 years. Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat is one of the premier University which provides good placements for its students. As per the records, percentage of students placed through campus was 85% for the batch of 2022. Key industries forming part of the employment where recruitment was done in large numbers were DRDO, Indian Coast Guard, CAPF, DPSUs, and State Police organisations. The maximum salary as per offer was Rs. 180000/- per annum offered by DRDO and the average salary offered was around Rs.65000/- per annum approximately.
